Bradley E. Delp is the man with the golden voice, who sang all vocals (lead and harmony/backup) on the first three BOSTON albums.
Before Brad joined BOSTON he was working in a manufacturing plant (making heating coils for Mr. Coffee machines) while singing in various Boston-area clubs at night. After former band-member Barry Goudreau brought Brad to the attention of Tom Scholz, Brad began singing on Tom's demo tapes. His indelible voice ultimately became an integral part of the BOSTON sound.
While BOSTON was on hiatus in the early 80's, Brad found the time to sing on Barry Goudreau's 1980 solo album, the Orion the Hunter album (to which he contributed writing), and a track on Keith Emerson's Best Revenge soundtrack. Brad quit BOSTON in 1989/90 to form RTZ with Barry Goudreau, but he returned in late 1994. Brad has spent much of his spare time from 1994-present playing in a side band, called Beatle Juice (a Beatles tribute group). Coincidentally, he cites the Beatles as his biggest musical influence.

Okay...not to be disrespectful, but now is the time for Tom Scholz to get his head out of his ass and do a little work summing up the band's past. How about a solid live album Tom? How about a live DVD Tom? How about going back and putting a perspective to what was Boston? Even though they did "Walk On", which I thought was a pretty decent album, without Brad Delp, I really can't think much of a future Boston without him. It's time to go back and use everything with Brad on it and put a close to Boston. Of course since Tom Scholz is an idiot, I doubt seriously that he'll do anything that makes sense like that. Please prove me wrong Tom!

from Associated Press--
Boston Lead Singer Brad Delp Dies at 55
Friday, March 9, 2007
(03-09) 15:58 PST Atkinson, N.H. (AP) --
Brad Delp, the lead singer for Boston, a huge rock sensation in the 1970s, was found dead Friday in his home, police said. He was 55.
Atkinson police responded to a call for help at 1:20 p.m. and found Delp dead. Police Lt. William Baldwin said in a statement the death was "untimely" and that there was no indication of foul play.
Delp apparently was alone at the time of his death, Baldwin said.
The cause of his death remained under investigation by the Atkinson police and the New Hampshire Medical Examiner's office. Police said an incident report would not be available until Monday.
Delp fronted the rock band, who rose to fame in the late 1970s and had several hits, including "More than A Feeling." The group sold millions of records.

Very sad. He had a great voice. I'll always remember that first Boston album which just exploded out of my speakers.

I'm sad to hear about this. Brad's other band, Beatlejuice, was scheduled to perform tonight at Johnny D's in Somerville (a neightborhood of Boston) tonight and tomorrow. This is a major loss.
I met him once ten years ago at WZLX/Breakfast with the Beatles event at the Hard Rock Cafe. He was very nice and loved the Beatles very much.

This is a total shock. Very unexpected and sad. The first three Boston albums are AOR classics and Delp's voice contributed mightily to their power and prominence.
After that, Scholz lost the plot for me, continuing Boston with replacement singers, but those first three albums were magic.
Very sad indeed.

I can still picture my days back in the Fall of '76 into the Winter and Spring of 1977 down in California and when yours truely was a Freshman in High School hanging out with the Senior musicians/musicheads. One of the bands they all fell in love with was Boston. I still remember having a period off from classes one day and I went over to a place where the guys used to jam. On that day, they were working on doing "Peace of Mind". So, Paul & Chris Comfort, if any of you guys are reading this, could you please get a hold of me. I'd love to hear from you. I went to Bellarmine in San Jose and had a blast hanging out with these guys and learning a lot from them. In losing Brad Delp, I feel as if I've lost those friends of mine a little more than I laready have.

Horrible. I can't see anything new from "Boston" without Brad. RIP.

The nicest, kindest, most caring, down to earth rock star the world has ever known.

I'm deeply saddened by this. I only discovered Boston in the '80s, but felt taken back to the '70s whenever I listened to them. The two remasters were constantly on my player last New Years. Brad Delp was an integral part of Boston's rich, saturated sound.

One of the greatest voices ever. This is truly sad news-and he was supposed to get married this summer. I did see Boston live twice and his voice was great each night. Man, this sucks.
R.I.P.

I now feel lucky that I went to see them on the last tour. He amazed the crowd with that voice of his.

Sorry Walter, but that's not the band's official website.
Here's a link to it..

...however, I wouldn't bother, as there is no mention of Brad's death. This is unfathomable. And a major slight.

The last concert he performed with Boston last November is available as a bootleg. Titled Boston with Symphony. It is a average/good quality audience recording but beware. The first 12-15 minutes is taken up with a ceremony for Doug Flutie and he plays drums on the last song. It was Doug Flutie day in Boston.

My apologies...I have only used http://www.boston.org in the past. I stand corrected.
