I know that Ian Hunter is still recording and touring. I don't know the names of the others, but I don't recall seeing any mention of an ex-Mott member in the obituaries.

Mick Ralphs is by far the most famous original member after Hunter. According to Wikipedia, All original members of MTH are still alive, although latter-day member Mick Ronson died in 1993.

You know...they could go the Elvis route and have a video screen of Jimbo with isolated vocals synced to the band playing live...

I didn't know Jimbo joined The Doors. You think he would have told me.

I hear part of his contract with the band is that he gets every Tuesday off and limo service to all the CD stores.

During Ross' ill-fated "Supremes Reunion", the Free Press commented that Diana, Mary & Cindy would have been a legitimate reunion.

I thought three Byrds were dead, Gene Clark, Michael Clarke (the drummer), and Gram Parsons.

My fave Supremes memorabilia is a Detroit magazine I saved from spring '67. It's got some really rare pics the likes we don't see anymore. Several were from a promo film of the Sups singing "The Happening" - they wore these yellow sequined long sleeved, high collared gowns. I've only seen a few pictures like them. One has a big man's face in the darkness behind them, as if he was editing the film. The article itself was very insightful. The interview with Flo really indicated some distress and her thought that nothing was forever. She seemed to hint that she was going to leave. There are some pictures from their second return to Brewster-Douglas projects which are hardly ever seen now. Most everyone is familiar with their first visit's pics.

Another fav is a '66 pic I saved from the cover of Detroit TV guide that has the girls in red sequins but the stage appears to be the center of a circus. Flo and Mary have tambourines. I have to pull that one out again to recall the background detail. I showed it once to a fanatic Supremes photo collector (way more so than me) and he had never seen it before. I guess I am lucky to have one that survived.

That's what they need the guys from the other bands for!

The original Genesis of course!

JohnG:
I know what you speak of, but the original Genesis made the abominable debut album "Genesis To Revelations" and had Anthony Phillips on guitar and Jon Silver on drums. In fact, Chris Stewart was the original drummer on their first 2 singles. The classic lineup you speak of actually didn't get together until the 3rd Genesis album in 1971.
But believe me, I know what you mean and I'd love to see it. Actually, I'm quite looking forward to seeing Genesis in Philly in September as is.

As for "original" lineups, I'd love to see the first Dio lineup together again, as well as the original Boomtown Rats, ELP, Dire Straits and Kansas (man do they miss Kerry Livgren!).
P.S.
This is NOT a Van Halen reunion tour Eddie! Get Mike back and send your kid home with his Wii.

I would have said Mott even 10 years ago. But Ian Hunter is in his 70's, & 70 year olds can't do glam. NO NO NO THAT WOULD BE SO WRONG!!
(I'd buy the cd anyways, though!)

Wishbone Ash (although I think one of the guitarists passed away?)

The Tubes (Other then the late Vince Welnik, they are doing or may have already done a 1 shot reunion).

Were they killed by one of the Stones?

My choice, not surprisingly: Supertramp (the classic lineup)

I have no idea if all of the original members are still alive but here's mine:

Jeff Beck Group (Beck, Stewart, Wood, Dunbar)
Trapeze (classic trio line-up)
Steppenwolf
UFO (classic line-up with Schenker)

Ronnie Wood's still bitter over losing the Birds/Byrds lawsuit.

The Action's done some reunion gigs with all the original members, but it would be interesting to hear what new songs they might write together with the influence of all the intervening bands (Mighty Baby, Ace) in the mix.

FWIW, the reunion show on disc 2 of Uptight and Outasight sounds like it could have been in the late '60s. Reg King's voice is in fine shape.

They already had their Filthy Lucre reunion and their Jubilee reunion, but let's have yet another Sex Pistols reunion! (No, Sid joined later.)
