I Googled it. It's between Ipswich and Norwich in England. Who knew?

Well, it couldn't have been Addis Ababa, because that is known as "Addis"!

Spice Girls gig sells out in less than a minute

The Spice Girls comeback gig has sold out in 38 seconds, after fans who registered for tickets online were notified they had gone on sale.

More than one million people in the UK pre-registered for the concert, which takes place on December 15 at the O2 Arena.

Ticketmaster boss Chris Edmonds said: "It was a dramatic moment - the sales went live and there was a huge surge as fans bombarded the lines."

Two more dates - December 16 and 18 - have been added to the tour.

Tickets for these two dates are currently being sold to fans who originally registered for them back in June.

Spice Girls tour is cut in half.

I think I posted here that the Spice Girls tour after its initial buzz had petered out along the way. It seems I wasn't far off.

They're saying it was a fight:

Quote:
Victoria Beckham and Geri Halliwell fight led to Spice Girls split

The Spice Girls' recent tour cancellation was due to a fall-out between Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham, according to the Daily Star.

The tabloid quotes an anonymous source as claiming that Beckham’s continual mentioning of her husband, David Beckham, in relation to Halliwell being single led to the band cancelling their tour.

The source is quoted as saying: "The girls turned to their partners during the emotional and exhausting tour but Geri had nobody.

"She felt Victoria was insensitive towards her isolation. She makes sarcastic comments under her breath to wind Geri up, so it looks like Geri is being unreasonable.

"And she’s constantly going on about David and how lucky she is to have such a great partner, unlike Geri."

I don't know if I believe that. More likely the tour isn't making money liked they hoped except for some big cities like NY.

NY Newsday said the recent Nassau Coliseum show was "almost" sold-out.

After weeks of trying, I just landed a single ticket (on the floor) for the Spice Girls at MSG, next Monday (2/18).

No one should be too surprised to learn this.

More importantly, I suspect you will be surrounded on that very floor by a sea of 21 year old female Spice Girl fans

Wear comfortable shoes cause your gonna be on your feet for the entire concert. I also recommend ear plugs. :D

The Spice Girls 'won't tour ever again'

Following the announcement that The Spice Girls have cancelled previously-scheduled dates on their current world tour, band member Geri Halliwell has revealed that the band's forthcoming show in Toronto on February 26 will be their last ever.

The band had previously claimed that despite media reports that they had fallen out, they had cancelled the dates because of \"family commitments".

Halliwell said: “It probably won’t happen again [touring]. I’m still absolutely blown away that we did more than one show. So right now I’m thinking this is it. This is the last time you will ever get to see this girl power, the five Spices on stage as one.”

Speaking to Billboard Halliwell, who left the group back in 1998, said she never dreamed the reunion would actually happen.

“If you had asked me 10 years ago whether there’d ever be a reunion concert, I’d have gone, ‘No fucking way!’” she said.

However, despite rumours of rows and squabbling between the girls, Halliwell said the tour has been brilliant saying: “(The tour has been) amazing, an experience of a lifetime. I couldn’t have asked for it to be better actually.”

That's exactly why I finally decided to snag a ticket for the MSG show. How could I live with myself, knowing that I missed a chance to see the Spice Girls on their last-ever tour?

Cruz Beckham upstages Spice Girls in New York

Victoria Beckham’s youngest son Cruz upstaged The Spice Girls during their sold-out show at Madison Square Garden in New York last night (February 18) when he launched into some break-dancing during the girls’ rendition of 'Mama'.

The group were in fits of giggles, missing lyrics in the song as they watched the three-year-old dance.

"We’ve been upstaged. He’s the next Justin Timberlake,” said mum Victoria.

Geri Halliwell’s daughter Bluebell, Mel B’s daughter Angel and Emma Bunton’s baby Beau were also on stage, as were Romeo and Brooklyn Beckham.

Bluebell Halliwell also had her moment in the spotlight when she grabbed her mum’s microphone and started singing “Mama I Love You” for the 15,000 strong crowd.

After the family performance they posed for a photograph before continuing the show.

“It’s so nice to be here as a five-piece for the first time,” Halliwell told the crowd earlier in the evening, with Mel C interjecting “Yeah, because you did a bunk”.

The show is was the sole New York City stop on the reunion tour for the girls, who recently played three shows in New Jersey .

They played:

'Spice Up Your Life'
'Stop'
'Say You'll Be There'
'Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)'
'Lady Is A Vamp'
'Too Much'
'2 Become 1'
'Who Do You Think You Are'
'Are You Gonna Go My Way' (feat. Mel B)
'Maybe' (feat. Emma Bunton)
'Viva Forever'
'Holler'
'It's Raining Men' (feat. Geri Halliwell)
'I Turn To You' (feat. Melanie C)
'Let Love Lead The Way'
'Mama'
'Celebration Medley'
'Goodbye'
'Wannabe'
'Spice Up Your Life' (Reprise)

I wonder what kind of crowd did they gather? City sophisticates or suburban moms?

Lots and lots of young, mostly suburban, ladies at MSG last night, from preteens to 20-somethings, plus quite a few "Spice Moms." I knew I was in trouble when I entered the arena and it was bathed in a soft pink glow!

Even so, it was a fun show, more Las Vegas than rock concert. A huge stage, two full complements of players, one on either side, and lots of toy-boy dancers. Costume changes, set pieces, props--kinda like 5 Madonnas on stage at the same time. The girls themselves are adequate singers, and plowed through all the hits, plus some covers. Scary did a solo version of Lenny's "Are You Gonna Go My Way" that featured some play bondage--wonder what the parents in attendance thought about that. The sound was amped up--which helped drown out the shrieking from the worshipful audience--but clear. The bit with the offspring was cloying, but the one breakdancing kid brought down the house. I fled for the exit during the second encore--a reprise of "Spice Up Your Life" (what, they ran out of material?)--and made the 10:14 train out of Penn Station, home by 11PM. I'm genuinely glad I got to experience a Spice Girls show, if it's really the last time.

I'll be in the Garden Thursday night with Linkin Park. That concert begins at 7PM sharp so we may also be on the 10:14 train to LI.
