Could be! :yay2:

Yanks have pounded the White Sox for 13 homers in 2 games. Da Bronx Bombers are back!

I hope A-Rod gets his 500 real soon. It seems every week there's a situation involving A-Rod. Now the press is on his case about this new mini-slump. The guy can't win.

But anyway, at least the Yankees have woke up and are ready for the next BoSox showdown.

and btw....the Yankees are playing a football game at the Stadium this afternoon.

In the second inning or first quarter its already 8-6 White Sox. The White Sox scored 8 runs and then the Yankees scored 6 runs. More to come.:D

Hmmm. Maybe my Subway Series revenge scenario still has a chance. I can definitely see the Yanks grabbing the Wild Card.

I'd be more confident on the revenge part if the Mets were hitting. What a disappointing season as far as that goes. The Mets pitching has been fine for the most part but the 2 Carlos's......heh.

I know, but I just have a feeling they are going to heat up this month. Plus, imagine if we get a strong, healthy Pedro Martinez! I like the Castillo trade also. Have to admit that those Braves and Phils are tough, though.

I am not counting on Pedro until September now. Even he doesn't seem to have a good feel for when he will be back.

I am going to damage a TV at some point if the Mets don't start hitting better with men on base.

Federico,
Don't do that my friend. You'll lose your Game Mix option if you do. I bet anything you are watching the Mets v.s. Brewers game right now as I type.

In fact, I was. They did much better today. The TV is safe for the night.

Clemens didn't have it today and the Yanks lost but they are on the upswing over all. The rest of the AL must be sweating at this point. All those HR's.

After coughing up two dingers to secure today's loss against the White Sox, Kyle Farnsworth is now the second coming of Ed Whitson as far as Yankee fans are concerned.

Please don't mention the Whitson name, Jimbo. He used to be a Giant back in the day. We felt the same way. LOL!

As a Red Sox fan, I can say that I'm definitely not sweating. Home runs are great, but you win with pitching. Other than Wang, the Yankees pitching is terrible. One good starter and four .500 starters won't get it done. I bet Joe Torre wished he had Scott Proctor yesterday. The Yanks will continue to score tons of runs, but they'll also continue to be streaky because of their bad pitching. There's no way they catch the Sox, and I don't expect them to get the wildcard unless both the Indians and the Mariners choke. I expect the Indians to get the Card.

Did anybody catch the induction ceremony, Sunday, for Cal and Tony into the Hall of Fame?

If you didn't, and you consider yourself to be a serious fan, then you need to try and catch one of the repeats on ESPN. It was fantastic! And this is coming from someone who generally hates those things. (Boring Zzzzz) Not This One!

There were more HOF'ers in attendence than for any other induction (MIA was Hank but my guess is he didn't want to answer the BB questions and it could have taken away from Cal and Tony--not sure if he was being classy or iritated. He goes back and forth between the two all the time)

The huge crowd (70k+) and HOF'ers only speaks to Cal and Tony's CLASS! They are two of the games absolute best all around players. Whoever didn't vote for them is an asshole and deserves to be fired, plain and simple.

They were so good for the game. I was fortunate to see Cal play in his last season and it was great.

Please catch the repeat of this show, if only for their speaches. All the rest was very cool but the speaches were dead on perfect!. I hope I can see it again as my wife came in and interrupted me twice and I missed parts of Cal's speach. Damn her! (Shh, she didn't hear that did she?)

Because of the Barry home-run chase, I was scrambling back and forth between games last night again. The Astros-Braves game last night was fascinating to watch. Once Barry gets over the hump, I'll be able to more fully concentrate on the better games.
BTW, I'm currently getting up from my computer chair here to check up on the Mets-Cubs game. I'm sure Federico is kind of sweating things out right now because the last I checked, the game was pretty tight.

Well, I was all to complain about the Mets failing to get a man in from third with no outs but Greene came through. But holy cow they have to hit better than they hit with MOB. Of course it ain't over yet.

The Mets seem to have this strange power over people. In some cases, with tragic results... :(

Quote:
D.A. BROWN: QUEENS MAN ARRAIGNED ON CHARGES OF MURDERING MOTHER WITH BARBELL AND ASSAULTING FATHER
Defendant Held Without Bail; Faces Life in Prison

Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown announced today that a 25-year-old Fresh Meadows man has been arraigned on charges of stabbing his mother in the head and beating her to death with a twenty-pound barbell when she became involved in a physical dispute between him and his father . . .

District Attorney Brown identified the defendant as Michael Anthony, 25 . . . The District Attorney said that, according to the criminal charges, the defendant was watching a New York Mets game in his family’s apartment on the night of July 28, 2007, when he began banging on the walls. At that point, his father, Fred Fischman, came into the room and yelled at him to stop. It is alleged that a physical fight then took place between the two men, during which Fischman was punched about the face and thrown to the ground. As the defendant’s mother, 61-year-old Maria Fischman, attempted to intercede, the defendant allegedly pushed her and stabbed her once in the head with a knife. Mrs. Fischman then ran into the bedroom, where the defendant allegedly struck her several times in the head with a twenty-pound barbell.

If you attend a NY Mets game you will notice many of their rabid fans are slightly off. It doesn't surprise me that one of them would bash their mom with a barbell.

That was some catch made on Delgado's almost HR in the bottom of the ninth today. Atlanta still has NY's number.
