Phils sweep the Mets!

Just thought I'd say that and enjoy it for a few hours. Pretty sweet. Most likely, the Phils will screw this up as soon as tomorrow, but for now, I'll take it!

You had our number last year too. The Mets are just spooked by the Phillies, for some reason.

I hate to say this but I still think this will be a subway - Yankees/Mets World Series.

Naaahh. The Mets will fade again in late August to early Sept. Not saying the Braves areback yet but the Mets have this way of blowing it every year.

The Phils had some timely hits alright. And once again Pat Burrell proves to be a Met killer.

Hopefully the Mets will be back at full strength soon.

Congrats to the Phils on a gutty sweep. They've shown some resolve since their slow start. The Mets were due for a down period. First time they've lost more than 2 straight all season. I still think NY will win the East and the NL. The Phils could grab the wildcard, though. I think the Braves are going to fade. If Atlanta does make the playoffs, they'll bow out quickly and quietly as usual.

You guys might want to keep an eye on what should be an excellent series over the weekend between the Mets and the Tigers. This may be a preview of the World Series later this year when most of us are getting ready to going back to wearing our thermal underwear.

Never...Yankees will remain dead this year, much like Generalissimo Francisco Franco.

Mets will likely choke like usual...and this is coming from a life-long Mets fan.

Well,
The Phils did what they do best-suck.
Nothing like losing 2 out of 3 to the lowly Royals and today's 17-5 debacle was the pits.
And, to make matters worse, Glavine's "batting practice" pitches destroyed my fantasy team today as the Mets got rocked 15-7-and he's a stinking Met! At least I have David Wright, and man, is he on fire after a hideous April. He's one of the Top 5 all-around players in MLB in my opinion. I also have Jorge Sosa (hey, we're an NL only league) and he has been amazing-I know he's due for a shellacking sometime soon though.
In conclusion, the Phils really bit ass this weekend and now the White Sox come to town-at least the fans should give Thome a standing ovation-we're not as horrible as everyone says we are-we only throw batteries at JD Drew and snowballs at Santa Claus!

I really enjoyed the Indians-Reds game today. And whenever the A's and the Giants play each other, it's always a win/win situation for me. I love both teams.

Just like to point out that the Yankees won their 7th straight game tonight, finally crawling back to .500! Watch out Sox!

And now the Phils are trying to sweep the White Sox after sucking ass to the Royals-hard to figure this team out, but they're right back in the race-only 3 behind the Mets if the Mets lose to LA tonight!
Truly a shame Freddie Garcia was hurt but I was tired of watching him throw batting practice every night-what an awful trade that turned out to be. I did predict he'd have an ERA over 5.00 especially pitching at Citizens Bank Park this year to my friend and I was right-sadly. Never been a Garcia fan and definitely not now!!!

The Mets are in a horrid slump at the moment. Better now I guess than later.

Maybe they need a series with the Yanks to wake up.

If the Padres are to get to the World Series this year, they better hope that they start hitting better. Their pitching has been fine, but the hitting needs help.

Speaking of the Mets, I was at the Dodger game last night and it takes a lot of talent to give up three home runs on three pitches including one by the pitcher. Great game 4-1 Dodgers

Whats really odd is the Mets are on this week's cover of SI.

And the Phils sweep the White Sox and the Mets are getting killed (another hideous outing on my fantasy team-this time from Sosa who I hope is still for real despite tonight's debacle).
Phils are now 2 games back-holy crap! They'll choke soon, don't worry Mets fans, but it's been fun lately!

The Yanks win their 8th in a row, thanks to a very strong outing from Mussina, more power hitting, and trim another game off the Sox lead. I didn't think they had it in 'em! :yay2:

Good thing for you that the Yankees aren't playing the Angels anytime soon. :D
