The surviving members of Big Country will be do some live shows in the UK in July to celebrate their 25th anniversary, and of course to pay tribute to the late Stuart Adamson. They've also made MP3s of two new songs available for free download from their website:

http://www.bigcountry.co.uk/home.php

>> These two songs are written in memory of Stuart. Bruce wrote “(Do you believe in) Ghosts” and Tony “Dreamboy”. Tony actually played bass on Bruce’s song last week which I am sure will please a lot of you as it proves that the guys are still collaborating with each other, albeit not live at the moment.

Ouch. I am a huge Big Country fan. There is no Big Country without Stuart Adamson. This is a joke, as offensive as the bogus Thin Lizzy without Phil Lynott and The Doors with the clown from Fuel.
Who is going to sing and play all those amazing solos of Stuart's? I don't begrudge the guys paying honor, but I don't think it's possible to do so by playing live without the guy who was the band.
They should call it something else, but not Big Country! That being said, I'm curious as to what they will be doing to a degree.

Hundreds of fans will get to see them on this anniversary tour. Maybe they should rename themselves Small Country.

Since Stu Cook and Doug Clifford were obviously CCR members throughout the duration of the band, they are entitled to perform these songs live (even if John Fogerty wrote and sang them all on the albums). However, I would have a much easier time accepting their tour if they simply changed their name - so that at least younger fans are not given the mistaken impression that Creedence Clearwater Revival still exists.
