Since a vault live release of the original VH may not happen in my lifetime, do you guys have any recommendations for those live UK grey-area FM broadcast CDs.

I bought one, Live To Air, several years back, but it's pretty poor sound quality-wise.

So, any ideas would be appreciated.

Here are all the Van Halen radio show CDs we've had threads for over the years.

Maybe one of our members can point out which are the best releases. You could also check each CD for Amazon reviews.

Can't say for all the releases, and it's not the classic lineup, but the one from the VH3 tour in Pittsburgh is very good sound quality, and it covers all three eras (but doesn't go heavy on VH3).

At this point, I'm looking for Roth-era. I've got a boot for the VH3 tour and that's more than I'll need from that lineup.

I second Alan that the 1998 Pittsburgh show is awesome.

I’d also say that some pro-shot shows are leaking out on DVD over the last year from the Roth and Hagar era including the Monsters Of Rock show from 1984.
