"When Will I Be Loved" just played on the radio.....

Goddamn, what a voice.

As far as I'm concerned, grossly underappreciated.

I agree wholeheartedly -- why is Linda NOT in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame? Her string of 70's albums were amazing, and she wasn't afraid to branch out into different genres. She also had a knack for discovering great up and coming songwriters and musicians. Is there anything we can do to at least get her on the BALLOT?

Maybe Wenner was afraid that LLCoolJ would knock him out if he didn't get nominated.

I always thought that was a great song, too. What album is it on again?

One of the very best voices, and best singers, I've ever heard.

My five favorite from Linda are:

"Heart Like A Wheel"
"Long Long Time"
"Heatwave"
"If I Should Fall Behind"
"Hurt So Bad"

There's a story on the Johnny Cash Show DVDs that Linda showed up sans undies when she performed. June Carter got a glimpse and sent someone out to buy her a pair to, uh, rectify the situation. Linda said, "I don't wear underwear when I sing." June said, "You do if you're next to Johnny." (Slightly paraphrased.)

Very underappreciated, and an excellent interpreter of material.

It's on "Get Closer," from 1982, her last pop album before her series of records with Nelson Riddle. It would be seven years before her next pop/rock work, "Cry Like a Rainstorm."

Linda Ronstadt has Parkinson's Disease
Brian Mansfield, Special for USA TODAY
The Grammy-winning singer revealed her condition to AARP Friday.
The 11-time Grammy winner was diagnosed eighth months ago but may have had symptoms for years
Ronstadt's memoir, Simple Dreams, comes out Sept. 17
Her hits include "You're No Good," "Don't Know Much" and "Hurts So Bad"

Parkinson's Disease has left Linda Ronstadt unable to sing.

The 67-year-old singer, who will publish her memoir, Simple Dreams, next month, revealed her condition Friday in an interview with AARP.

The singer of such '70s and '80s hits as You're No Good, Hurt So Bad and Don't Know Much now uses poles to assist her when walking on uneven ground and travels with a wheelchair. She says she was diagnosed with the neurological disorder eight months ago, though she began experiencing symptoms, including hand tremors and trouble controlling the muscles that let her sing, several years ago. She says she initially attributed her problems to the residual effects of a tick bite and shoulder surgery.

"I think I've had it for seven or eight years already, because of the symptoms that I've had," the 11-time Grammy winner tells interviewer Alanna Nash. Ronstadt's last album was 2006's Adieu False Heart with Cajun musician Ann Savoy.

"No one can sing with Parkinson's disease," she says. "No matter how hard you try."

Very sad. Love her 70s material. Played "Greatest Hits" to death and slightly beyond.

I love Linda, everything she has done is of the highest standard. And she can do it all, hell even great crossover music like Nelson Riddle and Spanish language records. WOW! And boy was she a hottie!

Of course now they will probably induct her in the Hall of Fame because she is ill, to late f&*!'in Wenner, we don't need your sympathy approval now.

We all know here she deserved this decade(s) ago.

Keep well Linda, we love you!
