That Bills vs Lions game was a fun one. Now there are two teams that I’m rooting for to get into the Super Bowl. It’s about time for the Bills to actually win one and of course the Lions have never been in a Super Bowl. But both have problems, the Bills have to go through KC and the Lions at some point have to deal with the Eagles.
Who you gonna root for if the Vikes get lucky and make it to the SB against the Bills? Each four SB's with neither winning any of them.
I would probably root for the Bills since they are in my division the AFC East, haven’t won a SB, are actually the only real NY team and I have family that are fans.
But I have also enjoyed the Vikings ever since the Bud Grant/ Fran Tarkenton years when they were known as the Purple People Eaters. Plus they have Sam Darnold the former Jet, love their uniform and color scheme and also are way overdue to win a SB.
So tough choice.

Late here, but the Eagles just keep on winning and crushed Pittsburgh.
Hurts lit them up as they finally listened to me and everyone else and realized you can’t run the ball very damn play.
Brown and Smith were both over 100 yards and the D was awesome yet again.
That’s 10 straight wins and people can keep talking about the Lions, Chiefs, Bills and Ravens but the Eagles are 100% as good as anyone in the league and may be the best team.
I said “may” because there are some really good teams as well.
Sirianni finally has two coordinators in Fangio and Moore who are far more knowledgeable than he is.
Remember, he wanted to keep both of his pathetic choices from last year who were both disasters!
Anyway, a fun season so far with more to go.
The Eagles had a jaw-dropping 21 play drive and didn’t even need to score on it to seal the deal.
21 plays!!!
That took 10 1/2 minutes off the clock and 18% of the game.
Who else can do that?
Let’s see what happens with Washington.
As for Cousins…it’s too easy.

I thought he was doing pretty good, big wins over the Ravens and the Steelers you would think seals the deal but he is an interception machine. But this season is over and I guess they want to see what they have in Thompson.

At this point, the Browns just want to lose all the rest of their games and get the highest draft pick possible. They would currently be picking 7th. The Giants were smart enough to do this weeks ago, straight to the 3rd stringer to lose as many games as possible. They currently have the 1st pick.
What is pretty amazing is that the Bears currently sit at #9. It's almost unbelievable to think there are 8 teams that are worse. Bears only hope at this point is that the last game is a meaningless game for Green Bay and they might be able to beat a "backup" Packer team (Green Bay would have the 2nd wild card spot with no chance to move up or down).
None of the three on stage knew the answer, one guessed the Giants, another the Houston (Oilers or Texans?) and the other the Browns. The Browns? There had been only 3 Super Bowl by July 1969.

I was stunned none of them knew the answer, but sports seem to baffle those contestants more than most topics. And they may have 103 Super Bowls before the Browns get to one (sorry, Renny!).

It's a pretty good bet that most Jeopardy contestants spend more time in the library than watching football games, Nothing wrong with that.
I'm not a big fan of Pro Football Reference's AV metric (Approximate Value). But it's about the only comprehensive tool that we have to measure a player's worth.
Jets top 5 QBs by AV-
1. Joe Namath 2. Ken O'Brien 3. Richard Todd 4. Chad Pennington 5. Vinny Testaverde
List is better than I thought it would be. Ken O'Brien was pretty good when he was younger but lost it pretty quickly when he got in his 30's. Pennington was good when he played but had the durability of a china doll. OK, Todd was mediocre at best and Testaverde was terrible. One of the biggest mysteries to me is how Testaverde stuck in the league for 20 years and actually had a good season in 1998 ( I know he went to another Pro Bowl in 1996, but that was definitely not what one would consider a normal Pro Bowl type season).
And they picked Ken O’Brien over Dan Marino but we know the Jets would have ruined Marino. He ended up in the right place.
Richard Todd and the Jets had very good 1981 and 1982 seasons and they made the AFC Championship game for the first time since 1969 in 1981 (but lost to the Bills in the playoffs), in the 1982 campaign during the AFC Championship game down in Miami, Todd had tunnel vision in the playoff game against the Dolphins and threw 3 picks to AJ Duhe of all people.
This was the era of the NY Sack Exchange so the Jets were very good in this era. Todd was a weak link.
**edit** looked back at the 1982 season and forgot that their was a players strike and only a handful of games were played, the Jets went 6-3 but qualified for the playoffs beating the Bengals and then the Raiders before falling to Miami in what is now known as the Mud Bowl.

Agreed, but it's just more trivia. And a lot of these folks compete in trivia leagues and study for this stuff, so it always kind of amused/baffled me that sports seems to be a common area of struggle.

Rams vs Jets today at 1PM in frigid NJ. Last time these 2 teams met was back when Trevor Lawrence was in play and the Jets beat the Rams in LA (screwing up that draft) for their first win of the season (they had been 0-13!). Trevor went #1 to the Jags, we got Zach Wilson #2.
