Wow what a game in NJ today, the Jersey Jets vs that other green team from Philly! Now the Jets has never beaten the Eagles dating back to 1973 and the odds of them beating them seemed impossible. But the Jets D showed up and Zach Wilson did enough to get them in FG range all day. A shocker 20-14.

So who in the name of God had the Browns / Jets double today?

I rarely have ever watched the Browns but did today because we had no local team at 1PM and I usually enjoy the 49ers and Brock Purdy but got to say the Browns impressed. And that was with a scrub QB from the XFL. Nice D those Browns have,!

weird weird weird day yesterday in the NFL.

Eagles easily handled Miami and are now 6-1.

The Dolphins are frauds.

Now they can swim back to Florida with no porpoise.

Nice to see the Eagles rebound after the Jets debacle (which they deserved to lose).

Hurts is, uh, hurt, but he did a great job aside from how ghastly turnovers and AJ Brown has 5 straight games with 125 recruiting yards.

Vikings showed up last night (finally) and embarrassed the Niners.

Man, Kirk Cousins was on point most of last night, I couldn't believe how well the Vikes' offense was playing.

But yes, there is something fishy about the Miami team.
I was also not expecting the Vikings to handle the 49ers the way they did, or for Detroit to get trounced. It's almost like teams get anointed the next big thing and feel they need to suck to reduce expectations.

For the record, I also have weeks with 6 teams on byes. It reduces the number of games, which further reduces the odds of a good game worth watching. Add an unexpected blowout, and all of a sudden there's nothing worth watching in the early window.

I've read that the Dolphins have easily handled teams with losing records but haven't beat any with winning records.

That said, it's still early in the year. Eagles lost to the Zach Wilson Jets but I bet would win 8 out of ten times, so I think a single game is too small a sample size.

One thing they were doing was doing a lot of rotating players. Seemed to work for the most part. Jimmy Johnson was big on that back in his Dallas days.

The Vikings still have absolutely no running game.

Cousins did play very well and hung in the pocket to do so.

It was funny seeing Addison do to Ward what Ward did to Addison.

Gonna be tough to win being so one-dimensional, especially with no Jefferson (whom they must re-sign).

I don’t know they embarrassed the 49ers, who were driving to win the game at the end.

I do think Purdy is purdy awful and Shanahan must realize that.

Out of curiosity, is there anything in between "very good" or "total garbage" for NFL players?

Brock Purdy isn't Patrick Mahomes but he's definitely not "awful", especially considering where he is in his career. The guy has literally started 16 regular season games and 19 games overall. Everyone likes to say it's all Kyle Shanahan's scheme but we've seen other QBs play in that scheme and very few have had the success he has. The Niners spent three picks to get Trey Lance and he totally washed out in that system.
