Mets won as well. We all had a good Opening Day.

19 runs 34 hits 23 men LOB 3 ties 5 lead changes 14 pitchers runs scored in 12 of 18 half innings 3 3 up 3 down half innings (including the bottom of the ninth to leave Goldie on deck)
total time of game 3:38.
not exactly how they drew it up, but a helluva fun game to watch. Jays win 10-9 over the cards.
Was thinking that before the pitch clock, the game would have been in the bottom of the 6th at the time it ended.

Kodai Senga brought great honour to Mets Nation and his home country with a stellar major league debut. The Marlins were struck out 8 times, looking frustrated as they couldn't make contact with the ghost fork. Mets leave Miami with a record of 3-1, all alone on top of the NL East where they belong.

Crazy how he improved after those first inning jitters. We need him!

True, but there need be only one interleague game on any given day. However, as Beachy points out, they're scheduling three now.

They want so badly to get to 32 teams, but there's too many unknowns with Tampa, Miami and Oakland to think about expansion. I don't know if they're eliminate inter-league (those inter-city games are money), but honestly, I think there's only about 6 match ups that have any meaning to fans

Tampa moves to Charlotte. Expansion brings Montreal and another city (Nashville, Portland, San Antonio-wherever makes sense).

Mets board the uniform sponsorship train with this patch: I'll ask what I always ask about these sponsorshop deals -- who is actually going to patronise New York Presbyteian because they saw the name while watching a baseball game?

At least the Mets won today. Too bad they can't play the Marlins all the time!

The 7-0 Tampa Bay Rays pitching staff has given up a total of 18 runs this season. The offense has hit 18 home runs. Every victory has been by 4 or more runs.

Marcus wrote: The Mets are already going to change the patch. Quote: Steve Cohen announced that the Mets have an agreement in place with New York-Presbyterian to alter the new sponsorship patch that first appeared on the Mets’ jerseys during Friday’s home opener. The new patch has been met with backlash for both its color and its size. Cohen said that the red and white on the patch are “Phillies colors” and wants them to be Mets colors. It remains to be seen whether the size of the patch will be reduced in addition to the color change. The picture posted yesterday was a photoshopped mockup. This one is too, but it's the actual size of the patch as worn on the field. (Still too big, IMO.)
