From The Pit:
Quote:
Daniel Fawcett, formally of the hard rock act Helix, was found murdered in a park this past Sunday morning (November 6th). Fawcett was part of Helix from 2002 to 2004.
Per the band’s Facebook account, the following statement has been provided regarding Daniel’s death: “So…still in shock concerning the murder of former Helix guitar player Dan Fawcett. Dan played for us arround the year 2000. He was a sweet guy who wouldn’t hurt a fly. Such a shame to die as he did…Presently I know about as much as anyone else that’s been listneing to the news: He was found deceased at a North London, Ontario park and the cops ruled it a homicide. I’ve been talking to friends back home on the phone and they know about as much as I do. Everyone has theories-but that’s all they are-so I’m not going to get into gossip. Here’s some photos that I was able to find quickly. I’m also going to post a video from our early show on Breakfast TV in Edmonton. (or was it Calgary?)”
As reported by Global News, Daniel was found in Gibbons Park, which is located in Ontario, Canada. At the time of this writing, no suspect has been taken into custody; the investigation into Daniel’s death is still ongoing. Also, per Global News’ reporting, Daniel was initially found unresponsive, and while an emergency crew was called in and began life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead a short time later.
This is such horrifically heartbreaking news. We send all our love to Daniel’s family, loved ones, and to that of the band.
RIP.
