One of the earliest memories I have of listening to Rodney on the Roq was hearing All for the Love of Rock & Roll from Live at CBGB’s. I never heard of Tuff Darts, or even the club it was recorded at, but a door was opened in my mind that allowed entry to the non-corporate music that stimulated my musical appetite. RIP Robert Gordon. Although I didn’t know his name until he left Tuff Darts and recorded an album with Link Wray, the Tuff Darts song still instantly brings me back to those mind expanding Sunday evenings with Rodney Bingenheimer.
