Didn’t get to watch the game as I was on a plane back from DC last night, although I did see some plays here and there since it was a plane full of folks headed home and a few people were watching on their phones (gotta love that high speed data service on planes these days). The defense won that game for the Seahawks,

Geno was the Jets QB way back in 2013/14 over 8 years ago and ended up being replaced by FitzMagic (and he is now out of football) so it’s amazing that Geno not only has survived the NFL but is starter for the Seahawks.

Anybody hear Mark Sanchez do the color for the NFL broadcast of the Giants game last Sunday? He actually was pretty good.

for the record:

fuck the NFL

fuck amazon prime

and

fuck thursday night football.

what a gag this is, eh? you want to watch football on thursday night you pay the $139 a year to amazon to do so, otherwise no football for you.

didn't pete rozelle once say that the NFL would never go to pay TV because free TV is what made the NFL what is?

Wasn't the Thursday game on NFL network (a paid premium channel) when it started out? ESPN is also a paid channel on Mondays. It's nothing new. I'm not saying I like it, mind. :)

Well, they seem to cater to those with deep pocketbooks. The joke's on them because there's more of us 'regular' folk than those with loads of money.

I look at it this way...... I'm a free market guy. I don't sweat that kind of shit, but it'll bite them in the ass down the road.

No game is that important to me. Ever.

The money Amazon gave them for TNF is more important than any fan is. They have done this with literally everything in the past decade. They talk out of both sides of their mouth and want everyone to be ignorant of what they really think about the fans. I quit on the NBA and I have been pretty close to giving up on the NFL also but I’m not quite there yet. I’m close though

Well, you can just have Prime Video and watch it, which is $8.99 a month and has a lot of content.

Get ready for more of this, streaming is growing and regular cable is shrinking.

The games are still available OTA in the local markets, like the ESPN games. I'd bet that the number of out-of-market complaints is still well below their threshold for changing it, and likely to stay that way. I'd bet a large enough group of people who want the games badly enough and don't already have Prime Video in some form are willing to fork out the $9/mo. for four months.

And let's be real - lots of people are going to pirate the games via unauthorized streams.

i quit on the NBA when labron went to LA. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

i still like the NFL, but they are pushing it now, i foresee the super bowl coming soon as a pay-per-view, and then i will be done with them too.

MLB is still OK, there are at least 3 games on per night on spectrum cable if not more, and yes believe i know how much i pay for spectrum cable .and all 162 ind//guardians games are on, and they are my second favorite team.

Highly doubt that -- WWE and boxing have switched from PPV to streaming as their main model for their big events, so I can't imagine the NFL would do something becoming obsolete.

Wow it’s rare to praise the Jets but in Cleveland they came back with 2 very late TDs one to rookie Garret Wilson (who had 2 TDs today) to win a shocker.

And the NY Giants are 2-0.

And dam the Dolphins and Tua have looked good early this season, 6 TDs for Tua and they comeback and beat the Ravens in Baltimore!

i will be in cleveland tomorrow morning to try out for their secondary........i figure that, at age 69, i can do at least as well as they did today.

oh, shit, i forgot, it was all baker mayfield's fault.

It certainly wasn't Jacoby Brissett or Nick Chubb's fault, Chubb just powered through the Jets D all day.

What's up with Cincinnati? Super Bowl last year and they're playing like the Bengals of old today against Dallas.

I'm rooting for Cincy just to see the Cowboys lose. I used to be a huge fan of Dallas but Jerry Jones has ruined the team and has been for 20+ years now.

And there’s the Seahawks most of us were expecting this year.

The last time Joe Flacco won a game was October 13th 2019.

Raiders and Ravens both coughed their games up in similar ways. A depressing week.

And SF, by not trading Jimmy G before the season, caused Trey Lance to break his ankle. Karma the destroyer strikes again.
