Seems like the only team the Eagles need to worry about in the future are the 49ers IF they play them in the playoffs. Now I would imagine Mr. Irrelevant will eventually get exposed but the 49ers have been fun to watch.
In the AFC it’s still Buffalo or KC at this point with the Bengals not far behind.

Trevor is coming to town Thursday night so we get to see the #1 pick vs the #2 pick in action at Met Life. Looks like the Jets missed again with picking a QB as Trevor improves weekly and Wilson throws willy nilly all over the field. Winning just one too many games 2 years ago cost us Trevor but who knows, the Jets blow at developing QBs. The NFL is scattered with them.

It’s not just the Jets that are bad at developing QBs. It’s most of the NFL. I think the league has to look at how QBs are developed and expectations even for top picks. Obviously, starting a rookie from day1 or even the first year hast served these players well. If they do start from the first game the team and the fan base has to understand this will take a while, evens if it’s up to 2-3 years.
I just think it’s very difficult to play QB at a high level in the NFL. I mean, there’s only 32 starting jobs on planet Earth, with billions of people out there, and there’s still not enough people who can play the position at an effective level.
It’s a real crap shoot that’s for sure. The Jets picked QBs that graded well coming out of college (Sanchez, Geno, Darnold and Zach Wilson) and seemingly (with Zach) have failed miserably each time. None of these picks were considered crazy (except when they picked Hackenberg in Round Two a few years ago). Seems the Jets are doomed to going with a veteran if they can.
When you hit it good (like the Eagles with Jalen Hurts) or Josh Allen with the Bills, you are years ahead.

I have a friend who says he would never draft a QB. Just sign veterans.
I probably agree unless you do get a chance at a no brainer (Zach isn’t a no brainer). Just get a solid game manager and with a strong D and a great FG kicker, you can have success.
The Jets are close now but this QB problem rears it’s ugly head every season.

The 2018 Draft was an interesting one, pundits had Sam Darnold way high and Baker was a bit down but rising. Look how high Josh Rosen and Mason Rudolph were ranked.
Daniel Jones and Mike White were at the bottom of the list so the Giants really reached there.

Sad news that Franco Harris has died. Just two days before the 50th anniversary of his most well-known play, the Immaculate Reception. His number was scheduled to be retired by the Steelers, too,
Loved that Franco Harris era and the Steelers, in fact all of the NFL back then. It was just an awesome time to become a football fan. It was when football was really football.

I have no idea if this story is true, but I enjoy it and it fits here since it combines music and football:
Quote:
Walter Parazaider, the saxophone player for Chicago, said in a retrospective back in 1980 that he was on vacation in Hawaii and walking on the beach in Waikiki when he ran into Pittsburgh Steelers running backs Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier. Parazaider said he got tongue-tied because he recognized them immediately and could only stammer out that he knew who they were. It turned out that they also recognized him and were too tongue-tied to say anything more than knowing he was a rock musician!
Parazaider said somebody finally suggested stepping into a beachside bar and getting a beer - and after that all three of them could relax and converse normally!
I cab believe that's how it happened and it's brilliant! RIP Franco Harris.

Well we probably witnessed the end of the Zach Wilson era for the Jets (if you actually watched this putrid game). He just doesn’t have it to be an NFL QB. Trevor plays with ease, even Mike White plays with an ease, Zach looks like he has no clue what the hell he is doing. They will have an off season to maybe fix him but it looks like a Josh Rosen situation, the guy needs to find another occupation.
Bummer for me as just a few weeks ago the Jets looked like a playoff team and it’s all crashed down again.

Yeah. I think Zach is done. The team seems to play harder for the other QBs.
