My bad for not doing this sooner.

We are now headed to week 2 of the preseason, so we can now discuss the NFL in this thread if that’s OK.

Bringing this from the previous thread so we don't have an unresolved cliffhanger ending:

Seahawks trade Ugo Amadi to the Eagles for JJ Arcega-Whiteside… so a DB that was probably going to end up getting cut, for a WR that will probably end up getting cut?

To be honest, I haven’t been paying too much attention. The whole Wilson thing just turned into such a fiasco that I walked away for a bit. I’ll probably start paying a little more attention as we get closer, but the impression I’m getting from local media and stuff is that they’re trying to be as positive as they can, but… Geno plays like what he is - a competent backup, and not the star that’s capable of being the deciding factor in a game.

Why did Wilson want to leave? I'm still blown away that Seattle wouldn't want to make some changes and compromise to make him happier?

Honestly, who the hell knows? As I mentioned, I walked away for a while - I haven't even looked at Field Gulls in a couple of months. I'm sure if I really wanted to, I could find some sort of dirt, but at this point, I'm over it. Reading between the lines a bit, and going by some commentary on local sports radio about what's going on in Denver, it seems like Wilson wanted much more of a say in what happened with the team (particularly with the offense) which was never going to happen with Carroll. We may never know what actually went on, but I think there was a combination of Wilson's attempts to control his squeaky clean public image and Carroll's "protect the team" mantra, which ended up hurting the team's image a bit. Neither side was honest with the public or the media about what was going on, and we ended up with this unbelievable divorce that took many by surprise.

And, as predicted, Arcega-Whiteside has been cut.

C.) Wrong sport
D.) Arcega-Whiteside was trash and a hideous #2 pick, not that you’d even know that

I no longer follow the NFL but I'm just popping in because I heard a player named Chauncey Gardner-Johnson
had been traded.
I'm a huge fan of the original Chauncey Gardener.
