I've seen mention of this online but I never encountered it myself until today.
Amazon will not permit me to purchase any CD or vinyl.
I get a message stating that I have reached my limit for a particular title.
I have never purchased the title before, nor am I ordering more than one copy.
Today I was ordering the Genesis Last Domino 4LP vinyl set and got rejected.
Then I tried to pre-order the upcoming live Knack CD and was rejected.

Has anyone else encountered this? I wound up ordering the Genesis set from Walmart.

If this is some dumb non-glitch, I have no reason to pay for Amazon Prime any longer.

Dan,

I've never seen Amazon limit sales of their own inventory for physical media. Only for foods and other household goods (and mostly during the pandemic when there were runs on everyday items). In any case, you weren't even buying quantities, it was your first intended purchase of each item. So I'll guess that you encountered a glitch.

If you want to try to go through the process again, but still get the same result, please post a screenshot.

Also try clearing cookies and see if that eliminates the problem during your next shopping session.

I have had the same problem for days now and they can't seem to fix it. I can order anything but CD's, DVD's or Vinyl.

Everybody who's experiencing this issue should make Amazon customer service very aware of it at 866-216-1072.

I just got off the phone with a rep named Shantal, who is apparently one of the next-level reps that they send you to after the first ones can't help.
After about 20 minutes of looking into it she said there is a "ticket" being worked on for this issue,
she has been aware of it, and she would expect it to be remedied by Friday.

They must be losing a ton of sales to Walmart and other outlets so you'd think they'd want to fix this.

I would post a screen shot but sadly I no longer remember how to correctly post photos that aren't too large etc.

Same thing is happening to me. Tried to order the New George Duke and John Fred releases and it won’t let me.

Perhaps anyone who has Amazon Prime is limited due to the rising freight costs?

People are saying that Amazon may have wanted to limit the purchase of any singular particular title to 4, but they erroneously
blocked people from ordering more than 4 CDs, records, or DVDs in total for whatever amount of time. I'm reasonable sure it
will eventually be fixed as it would be a terrible business decision. I know that if it remains I'll be done with Amazon, Prime or otherwise.

I can't buy 'anything' from amazon UK and are limited in what CDs etc. I can buy on amazon.com
Believe me Amazon is doing everything to make it hard to buy what you want especially for Australian customers. Amazon.com.au is an absolute joke compared to the prices and range in virtually every other country. It is one of the reasons I have cut back on the 1000s I used to spend on physical media. It's just too hard to get and too expensive when you can get it. They have dug their own grave.

I was trying to buy a single copy of the Joanne Shaw Taylor cd/dvd Songs From The Road on Sunday and Monday and kept getting the message that I reached my limit. I tried at least a dozen times over the course of the two days and kept getting the same message. I tried again earlier this evening and I was finally allowed to order it.

I was just able to pre-order the live Knack CD that was rejected earlier, so maybe things are back to normal! :D
