The Last Duel (which I saw last night) gets shut out. That’s a bit shocking considering it’s pretty good and they nominate 10 films.

The Power Of The Dog (on Netflix) gets a Best Picture and 5 acting nominations!, screenplay and cinematography and more. It’s a pretty good movie and deserves its noms.

The other big snub is House Of Gucci (haven’t seen that one yet), no Gaga. No anybody.

And no Spidey, it’s only made a billion dollars, been #1 at the box office for over a month during a major COVID outbreak and is actually a well made movie. What the heck?

Nothing for Simon Rex or "Red Rocket"?

This is what happens when no-talents like Robert Wuhl somehow manage to become members of AMPAS.

And one of my favorites The French Dispatch got no love (despite 10 films). :(

I've only seen Dune out of all those movies up there.

I was hoping "The Sparks Brothers" would make the documentary feature list.

Jeez I’m slow, just realized Last Night In Soho is missing too. It featured the last performance by Diana Rigg and had two great performances by its two female leads, one of the better movies this past year (great soundtrack too).

Me too. Or something for Annette. Saw them last night, and they were amazing (as expected). And if there were sour grapes about the lack of nominations, they didn't share them with the audience. They seemed genuinely pleased about their wonderful cinematic achievements last year.

Figures Cry Macho didn't get any love from the academy since it barely got any love from critics and audiences alike. Of course I loved it and thought it was another fine latter-day Eastwood movie, but obviously I'm part of the minority. I am hoping to see Licorice Pizza and the Tragedy of Macbeth someday though, but really those are the only nominated films I'm interested in.
