Thanks for the info, Jason.

You're welcome :-). Here's some more news for you...

Carlos Correa to the Giants for 13 years, $350 Million, no opt outs. that's a big, big commitment.

I was kind of hoping the Jays could get Bichette / Vlad for 1/2 billion over 12, but now it's looking like that won't be enough to get it done.

Oh, well. I never expected the Twins to be able to sign him. 13 years is insane, even for a 28 year old.

Looks like the Twins offered him $285/10 years.

and the giants still have money left to spend, they were going to give all that and more to judge.

so correa gets 13 years and bogaerts gets 10 years and turner got 11 years, we'll see what swanson gets. shortstop is the place to play, for sure.

We’re going to see more of these long contracts, since it stretches out Average salary per year. It allows the team to stay under the luxury tax.

2 years ago everyone was upset about the 10 year Linder contract but that will look like a deal compared to these 11 year-13 year contracts being handed out like candy.

Hard to believe the Mets were actually looking into Correa.13 years!

Lindor’s contract started all of this.

Right now MLB has:
49 players making $20 million or more.
129 players making $10 million or more.

there are 14 players making more than $30 million, which I'm okay with.

There are 7 TEAMS with payrolls under $80 million, which I am not okay with.

There are two players (Mad Max, Gerrit Cole) who get paid more than the lowest paid teams (Pittsburgh, Oakland), which I'm really not okay with

The Dodgers payroll is roughly equivalent to the lowest 7 teams in baseball

Salary caps are just a way to keep payroll from inflating as fast as revenue does, but those numbers are not good for the health of the game.

Thor to the Dodgers on a 1 year deal.
Dodger’s are being careful of their payroll in preparation of Ohtani next offseason.

I kind of thought the Twins might be in on Noah for a 1 or 2 year deal to help guarantee innings.
And, if their younger pitchers are good to go, and Twins had too many, someone could go to the pen.

It will be his third team in a year after leaving the Mets in a huff. Bet he didn’t figure that though in the end he wins because they are paying him $13M (and if he pitches well like Zack Wheeler has done, he will get a nice payday).
I knew the Mets should have traded him when they had a chance back in 2019 when his trade value was still high but they didn’t and then he blew his arm out in early 2020.

Talking about bad long term contracts to players that don’t live up to their contract we give you Chris Davis:

Probably better to trade him then moving him to 3B. If he wants to go, that is. His choice.

Crawford is due $16 million. The Yankees probably want SF to eat some of that.

Well… if the Twins don't have anyone else to spend their Correa money on, they could take on that whole
salary to have a quality defensive shortstop for one season while they see if Lewis or Lee want the job afterwards.

The Yankees sign lefty Carlos Rodon for 6 years for 162 million. It was thought that Rodon wanted 8 years for 200. So, now the Yanks rotation is Cole, Rodon, Cortes, Severino and Montas. Not too bad.

He's been an All-Star the last two years, so he's rebuilt himself after the injuries.
