Moar rule changes for this season:

28 players through May 1, with no limits on pitchers
No more than 13 pitchers after May 1.
New Shohei Ohtani rule - if the starting pitcher is DH'ing, he does not need to stop DH'ing when lifted as a pitcher

and....

The Ghost Runner returns in the 10th inning.

I'm torn on the ghost runner; it's not natural (can I say supernatural?) but it has done exactly what it was supposed to do, and tbh, done it in a relatively enjoyable way.
The other changes I'm fine with

I thought they were thinking of the ghost runner by the 12th inning, so it's right there in the 10th, huh?

Little League nonsense. Both sides of the CBA are overseen by clowns.

The ghost runner is pure trash but at least it will be gone next season.

If they add stealing 1st base to MLB in the future (and they’re using it in some minor leagues this year), I’m done.

Hasn't stealing 1st always been allowed?? On a dropped 3rd strike, that's exactly what happens. What is the change that's under consideration now? Would it just be extended to any dropped pitch?

That’s not a stolen base.

I know it is only the 8th day of games, but the Yankees have to be wondering about Severino being their #2 starter. He has been getting hit hard, and I wonder whether if this shortened spring will be long enough for him to get ready.

It would be any dropped pitch.
Official scorer wise it is a Fielders Choice, and not a Stolen Base.

Right now, the Yankees are happy Severino is healthy and his velocity is up.

Listening to the Yankees vs the Red Sox from 08/16/58 - the 10th anniversary of the death of Babe Ruth. Rizzuto is doing the play by play - he just said the next home stand in New York will see all the "western" clubs coming into the south Bronx... Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago and Kansas City. I feel old - I remember having all these players on baseball cards (still have my Yankees). It's Larson against Brewer - The Sox are leading 1-0 at this moment.

The good old days!

none of those old red sox teams ever had any pitching..........brewer?

hence, ted williams, the greatest left handed hitter of all time, only played in one world series....1946.

by the way, he made $40,000 that year.

Twins pick up Chris Archer hoping for some upside.
Their starting pitching is looking pretty good now… if it were 2017.

btw....talking about Ted Williams, my daughter went up to Vermont over the Winter for skiing and stayed in a home that was once owned by Ted. It was full of Ted Williams memorabilia. She asked me had I ever heard of Ted Williams and I of course said he was one of the greatest ballplayers ever.

Just found this little gem in JIMBO’S “Box Of Gold” That I’m going through now..

Pretty fair shape. Scorecards left blank. Ads are priceless moments from a bygone era.

Our Dad led us down the road of Mets fandom for a solid decade. He was a little perturbed when he saw us splitting off to the Yanks in the early 70s.

Nice one, Jack. I miss hearing Jimbo post about baseball. And… well, Jimbo in general, but we all do.

Seems like Jim had some sort of a momentary mental breakdown where he lost his sense of New York Clarity. I plan on burning the gloves I used to touch this nasty little thing.
