I'm guessing 75-80%. With Covid fears or states keeping audiences away, they aren't going to miss out on one cent of that sweet, sweet, TV revenue.
Oh, and even if they wanted to, they have to know based on their demographics and declining fan appeal that to shut down again for an extended period would do nothing but accelerate the death of the game.
There is a twitter feed that is asking for Manfred to do play-by-play for a game. They are sure he would call the umpires, refs, and refer to runs as points. It is a hard job representing 30 different owners with probably a dozen different agenda’s, but Manfred needs to stop stepping in shit with his mouth at times. The process of a deal will speed up as owners and players start losing revenue. I think the baseball season will start on the 4th of July.
Mark my words - this year (if there is a this year) It'll be the battle of New York in the World Series - The Rich (The Mets) vs the "not as rich as you thinks" (Yankees).

Fanatics had wrested the MLB licensing away from Topps, but now they own the brand and will continue to issue new baseball cards under the classic Topps name.
Rachel Balkovec of the Tampa Tarpons (the Yankees' Low A affiliate) has been promoted from hitting coach to become the first female manager in MiLB history.
Would love to see Gary Carter's #8 (and Yogi Berra's #8 at the same time), Rusty Staub's #10, Dwight Gooden's #16 and Darryl Strawberry's #18 retired in future seasons.

it's really kind of hard to believe that all of those numbers aren't already retired.

I went out to dinner with my friend from the Phillies who is a higher-up.
He’s a great guy and we’ve stayed friends even though I don’t work there anymore.
He told me the Phils lost $180 million in 2020 (the COVID year) and $130 million last year.
Each of the owners ponied up $100 million last year to keep things going.
17% of front office staff was cut and TV road broadcasts were done remotely to save money.
I was amazed at how bad it was and he said this is hitting literally every team unless it’s an owner who is just throwing money around of his own volition the last two years, or it’s one of the few teams with regular sellouts still.
I asked him how much longer the insanity can continue with deals like the Scherzer one and he said not much longer with falling attendance and season ticket sales, but as long as there’s a few owners willing to do so, it will probably continue for a few years.
He did say TV revenue has remained pretty strong but that advertisement rates in stadiums are dropping.
MLB is far from the only sport hurting right now, but I thought I’d just share some of what he told me.

BBWA Hall of Fame voting results announced tonight. Since the Veterans Committee has decided to turn it into the Hall of Everyone We Know, they might as well let Clemons and Bonds in.
