While I know most sports fans don't like Roger Goddell at all, I know of at least 30 people who really, really, really like him. Although, let's be honest, he probably is worth as much as 2 ace starting pitchers, or a couple of top 5 QBs from the owners' perspective. Just a bit of smack in the face when it's not about the players on the field, but the suits off it...
Colts actually have a chance to compete in a very bad division, but they have to beat the Titans on Halloween to get there.
And they blow a 14 point lead... woof. Carson Wentz really fell apart at the end of that game. Feels like the story of the season -- they compete well against good teams most of the time, just not good enough to *win*. Lost by a possession to the Rams, Ravens, and now Titans... and these last two were really daggers considering how they had a huge lead early in the games. I guess the season is basically over at this point barring a total Titans collapse.
And now they play the Jets on Thursday, who seem to have found themselves a good young QB in Mike White... just the second QB ever to throw for 400 yards in his first start. I just saw in the news that there were four back-up QBs playing yesterday and all four won!

Sounds exactly like the Vikings. Exactly.
As much as I like Mike Zimmer, I feel like he's going to be gone at the end of the season.

You might be right. I am seeing a lot of the same head shaking decisions being made by our QB. 3rd and 15, throw a 5 yard pass. 3rd and 3, throw a 25 yard pass.

I think we might want to wait before anointing Mike White.
Dallas waived him before and the Jets have waived him at least 4 times.
It was a nice story yesterday, as was Cooper Rush, but let’s see a few more games.
Fun to watch both games though.

That's the thing -- the Colts run defense basically shut his ass down. I think his longest play from scrimmage was 9 yards. The Titans still pulled it out.

And then we get a good kicker and he misses critical kicks.
The Vikings curse. We blew the 1998-99 NFC Championship, so this is what we get.
I've also been a Cowboys fan for decades but have no love for them for the last several years due to one thing...... Jerry Jones. He's the DC equivalent of Dan Snyder. The Boys won SB's in the 90s in spite of Jones being owner. It was all Jimmy.

20 of the 37 completions were to RB's. That seems like a lot of checkdowns. He absolutely deserves credit for being effective, but we will see if other defenses prepare for it.

Yeah but if the only guy who's open is the five yard pass and the pass rush isn't giving you time to wait until someone comes open... what do you do? Throw a INT, take a sack, or throw rhe five yard completion, no? If there's a 25 yard pass open, most QBs would LOVE to make that throw.
All that said, it doesn't seem like Kirk Cousins is the answer at quarterback.
Man, absolutely nuts. I guess just about everyone from that 2015 Super Bowl run is done, huh? I read he was pretty emotional about it... nice to see a player bond with fans as much as they bond with a special player.
Just wondering how all these trades and big names are possible without going over the cap.

The Rams Really Do Not Care About Draft Picks
This has been the Rams' modus operandi under general manager Les Snead. Draft picks are valuable, but proven players are far more so. NFL draftees, in particular, take a while to become impact players. Hitting on a first-round pick is great, but the Rams have a chance to win right now and do not have the time to wait for anybody to come along, even if they are ultimately great players. It's a big difference in philosophy from the recent trend in NFL strategy, which hinges on accumulating as many draft picks as possible in order to have more darts to throw at the board in the hopes that a few pan out.
[,,,] In this upcoming draft, the Rams don't have a pick until the fifth round as of today. Unless they pull off another trade in the next year or two, they'll have gone eight years without picking in the first round.
Given the Rams went to the Super Bowl and have made the playoffs three of the last four years, I would say the strategy is working. But it is a unique trend that we may never see again. Few teams have all of what the Rams have right now: a defined championship window, a recognition of that window, and the free reign to do whatever it takes to make the most of it.
There are, of course, predictable ways for this to go wrong. If the Rams get unlucky and stumble for a few seasons, they'll be in cap hell with all the superstars under contract with zero way to get reinforcements on the cheap. But if they win the big one, it's impossible to think of it all as anything other than a roaring success.

Actually, most Viking fans here in MN were aghast at what they paid him to come here.... which robbed us of future picks due to the salary cap. If the guy was Tom Brady, yeah, it would be good.
Also, many Vikings fans don't care for Cousins. Well, if we win, he's good to go.

Tom Brady will still beat them in the playoffs.
