I should've started this a while ago, but anyway the schedule is out, so let's make this the start of the 2021-22 season which will have 17 games for each team.
And, let's make the first news item of the thread this act of comedy (although I would not be shocked if Tebow made it whether he deserved it or not)...
From rotoworld.com:
Jaguars TE Tim Tebow has no guaranteed money in his one-year, $920,000 deal.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said the lack of guaranteed money is "another sign that he’ll have to fight to make the team." Tebow, 33, is expected to take on a position besides a traditional tight end if he cracks the Jags' Week 1 roster. That could turn the fan favorite into a touchdown vulture near the goal line, affecting the fantasy prospects of Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne, and James Robinson.
Tebow's chances to making the team are probably higher than most believe; Jacksonville has one of the NFL's worst tight end groups, led by James O'Shaughnessy and blocking specialist Luke Farrell, a rookie out of Ohio State. Tebow could be drafted absurdly early in August if signs point to him making Jacksonville's roster.
All of the top-selling items in the NFL.com store are related to Tebow, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

So the League has decided no more fiascos with postponed games this year - any team that has an outbreak that causes a game to not be played will get a forfeit and a loss toward playoff seeding. Apparently they've also said there’s going to be financial penalties as well.

Quote:
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Thursday that the NFL sent a memo to its clubs stating that if a game cannot be rescheduled during the 18-week schedule due to a COVID-19 outbreak among unvaccinated players, the team with the outbreak will forfeit and be credited with a loss, per sources informed of the situation.
In addition, players on both teams will not be paid for the lost contest, and the team responsible for the cancelled game due to unvaccinated players will cover financial losses and be subject to potential discipline from the Commissioner's office.
I’m glad there are still preseason games, because last year’s games in September were very sloppy and it’s clear the players needed to have at least some preseason action.

So apparently this year's Hard Knocks is going to be following the Cowboys again.
Honestly, I couldn’t give two shits about them, and there are so many other teams that would’ve been interesting img, but marketing trumps all I guess.

The Cowboys are a great team for it - their fans are really loyal and will tune in for every minute. And everybody else despises them and will turn in for the sh*tshow drama. Win, lose or draw, there's no NFL fan who hears "Cowboys" and goes meh.
And that's the marketing I mentioned. They're counting on the drama to pull people. As I said, I couldn't give 2 shits about Jerry or his team. A team that's looking to actually rebuild and develop some talent is much more interesting.
