RIP, Maestro, and thanks for the great atmospheric sounds. Aside from the pop culture references of the main theme of the Good the Bad and the Ugly, I'm most familiar with the Ecstasy of Gold as Metallica's walk up music. Probably one of the best well known examples of walk up music, along with Priest's use of War Pigs, and Maiden's use of Doctor, Doctor.
