Wondering what fellow ICE-ers experience has been during this virus pandemic.

I ordered the Cream live box from Amazon on March 20th.
It was sold thru Amazon by OxfordshireEngland.

It was shipped March 23rd, expected by April 20th.

While I expected a delay due to Amazon policies during the caronavirus situation, I think it should have been here by now.

I contacted the seller the end of April inquiring, and was asked to wait another week, which I did.
I recontacted when the week passed and asked for a replacement, along with tracking information.
They responded simply by saying that they don't provide tracking information....

I have asked for confirmation on the replacement being shipped however have not heard anything back.

Has anyone else been experiencing this type of delay from the UK?
Seems like a very long delay even given the circumstances. It's coming up on two months now....

Thanks.

I ordered a CD from Japan which took 8 weeks to get to me in Canada.
I ordered some DVDs from the U.S. which shipped April 8. They sat in Michigan, unmoving, until May 1 when they suddenly wound up in Illinois. Nothing since that day. I could've driven down to Detroit where I ordered from, in one day. Patience is definitely a virtue right now.

For about six weeks, the UK basically closed its doors to shipping items outside the country except for what they consider essentials (which music is not, as much as I'm tempted to argue otherwise). Amazon UK only began allowing orders from the USA again a few days ago, and some labels and titles are still locked out.

Without tracking info you can't help but worry that the package has gone lost, but my guess (and it's just a guess, Dave) is that it's still on the way, but very delayed because it wasn't allowed to leave the UK for over a month, and then was being handled by a smaller staff with restricted movements.

In the worst case scenario, Amazon UK will of course refund your money. But I expect that they and the seller will both ask you to wait a little longer first, because of the unique circumstances.

Well actually this was Amazon US, I'm guessing that it was sold out in the US supply chain so they sourced it from the UK, but still...

And in a bizarre update/twist - after I posted this thread I checked the mail and I got a package from Cherry Red - The Broken Barricades remaster from Procol Harum, which I ordered April 30th.
I have had great difficulties with them in the past - one order took 2 months to get here, the replacement coming the day prior.. They got this one here by Royal Mail in 2 weeks!

So go figure.... just wondering how long before need to request cancellation/refund and try to source it elsewhere...

I just got that Jimmy Page and the Black Crowe’s CD from Amazon UK that was delivered by a DHL courier and had to be signed for!

I tend to order things from Europe via Amazon or Burning Shed or the artist themselves and then just forget about it till one day it arrives, it’s like a Christmas surprise. :)

I just ordered that Page/Crowes CD for my buddy (and a Who CD for my own self). With no concerts to go to and restaurants closed, who knows when I'll see him again?

I'm in day 56 waiting for a CD I ordered on March 18, 3rd party dealer fulfilled by Amazon UK, shipped out on March 19. I'll give 'em till Monday = 60 days, then isle ask for a refund, ugh...

But I since ordered a book from Amazon UK 3rd party dealer on April 11, and it got here in 12 days.

Got this reply today frm OxfordshireEngland -

Quote:
Good morning,

Thank you for your email,

I am really sorry to hear that you haven’t received your order yet. I can assure you it was definitely posted out within two days of us receiving your order.

Unfortunately, once your order leaves our building it really is in the hands of Royal Mail to complete your delivery, and unfortunately, this is beyond our control.
I am really sorry about this; I can only assume your order has gone astray in the post.

As it has passed your expected delivery date, I have arranged for a full refund on your account. If, in the meantime, your order should arrive then please let me know.

Please accept my sincere apologies for this inconvenience.

Not sure what this means- out of stock? No offer of a replacement...

Refund was already processed so I will just reorder from another source...

Good Luck to the rest of you if you ordered from them...

Well, since they issued a refund so easily, you can't really complain about the service. They may just think it's better to give you a refund rather then taking a chance with the mail these days.
I wouldn't reorder too quickly if I were you. I wouldn't be surprised if it still arrives in the coming weeks.

Hard to say just what's happening. I ordered two CDs from Amazon UK and already got a shipping notification - a little unusually quick. On the other hand, I ordered a couple CDs from David Grissom the day they went on sale, and I've seen people post theirs while mine has yet to arrive. I'm just chalking it up to things being a tad screwy right now.

Glad to report my CD fine alley arrived today, on day 57, shazam!

Overseas online shopping is over for Australian music buyers. Virtually every option is no longer an option.
Amazon no longer ships to Australia and Amazon.au is laughable

You just need a UK friend (or wherever) to buy it for you, receive it, then re-ship it to you. Or better yet, if you can, you buy it, have it shipped to your UK friend (or wherever), and then they re-ship it to you. I've done this more than once, when an Am UK 3rd party didn't ship to the US.

Doesn't work for those of us without friends.

I was surprised how much more the shipping from Amazon UK has jumped since starting to ship to US. What normally I saw for 3.99 pounds, has been in the 8.99 range (for those items that will ship to US), My sampling was maybe 3-4 items, as I found that to be too much to bother looking any further at this time.

I remember the glory days of ordering from Amazon UK and getting CDs sometimes within a week here in the USA.

Got some Bay City Rollers CDs that way.
