I thought this would be worth spinning off from the 1977 thread, where many people are chiming in on the topic. What are some examples you've seen? Or even haven't seen? Both the recent trend of using this as a selling point, or back in the days when artists would include them as part of a set list are OK.
Here's some I've seen. I'll probably remember more as I think about it.
Jethro Tull: Aqualung (spread throughout the show) Deep Purple: Machine Head Roger Waters: Dark Side Of the Moon; The Wall Elton John: Captain Fantastic Yes: The Yes Album; Close To the Edge Bruce Springsteen: The Wild, the Innocent, & the E Street Shuffle; The River Rush: Moving Pictures Stevie Wonder: Songs in the Key Of Life

Not a fan of these shows but I've seen and usually just because I wanted to see the other part of the show, not the whole album:
Boston-Third Stage Rush-Moving Pictures Asia-Asia Yes-The Yes Album Yes-Close To The Edge Yes-Going For The One Dream Theater-Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence Marillion-Marbles The Who-Quadrophenia (3 times) King Diamond-Abigail Iron Maiden-A Matter Of Life And Death Roger Waters-The Dark Side Of The Moon Roger Waters-The Wall Billy Squier-Don't Say No Kiss-Alive!
I'm thinking there's others but this is all I could remember...

Oh yeah, The Who doing Quadrophenia, on more than one tour. I saw Brian Wilson do Smile too.
Going way back, The Kinks doing all of Schoolboys in Disgrace.

List so far includes: Rancid - Out Come the Wolves Fear Factory - Demanufacture Weezer - Blue Album and the Joshua Tree's coming up.
I'm okay with it as a gimmick set, as long as the album is worth it, and it's not the only thing they play. I have to be willing to go see the band without it, though.
The worst story I've heard of this set up was the Wu Tang Clan's performance of 36 Chambers here in Toronto, as not all of the Clan made it, and they used backing tracks for at least Killah and Methodman. I didn't see the set, but I heard the complaints.

When you see Steven Wilson or previously Porcupine Tree, they play their latest album in almost its entirety. Not many acts play all their newest stuff in concert.

Rush - Moving Pictures Kansas - Leftoverture Who - Tommy (1989?) Who - Quadrophenia (2012) Brian Wilson - Pet Sounds
I saw Ozzy do all but two songs off "Blizzard Of Ozz" (minus "Dee" and "No Bone Movies") on the "Diary Of A Madman" tour in 1982.

The Who only played all of Tommy in NY and LA in 1989 but large chunks of it at each show. Every Rush tour I saw from 1982-86 they played all but one song from Signals, Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows for each tour.
