Apparently she will listen to no one and even the pro's have had enough of her behavior.

The video at the top of the page is painful to watch. What a doofus.

We all know that it's just a matter of time before Britney stages her big comeback and everyone (well some anyway) are there to celebrate her redemption. The key is getting away for a while, which she should be doing, instead of constantly grabbing the headlines. If she can only get out of her own way for a while it would be better for all involved.

Looks like she's headed for Anna Nicole territory to me. Maybe she'll lose the weight, that's the easy part -- you just have to use different drugs. But getting control is another story.

When you think about it, most of us are raised by people who are striving to make us into independent individuals. We learn how to make choices and what the consequences of those choices are. Celebrities (particularly child stars) are often manipulated every minute of every day and are never taught to fend for themselves. They are applauded for every step they take, regardless of the merit of those steps.

The same managers that are bailing now are some of the same people who have caused the problem in the first place. Very likely, they've made their millions off her, see that her days are numbered (career wise) and are now moving on to exploiting someone else.

I hear talk about Britney's desire to make a comeback. What makes anyone think that it is SHE who wants to "return?" My bet is that the leeches in her life are the ones pushing her to make this comeback. And, in the event that it is her decision, what makes anyone think she has the ability to make a good decision (after having people make all of her choices for her over the better part of her life)?

I feel the utmost sympathy. There are support groups and organizations comprised of adults who were child-stars. All of them tell tales of how the entertainment industry used them up and spit them out when they were no longer needed.

That said, from what I've witnessed in the media, she should lose custody of her children until she can get her life on track. Maybe that would be enough to motivate her to get it together.

Unless she's spent it all on partying, she likely has enough money that she'd never need to work again.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Pop star Britney Spears was charged on Friday with hit and run and driving without a valid license, a spokesman with the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office said.

The 25-year-old singer was charged with one count of hit and run causing property damage and one count of driving without a valid California driver's license, both misdemeanors.

The charges, which each carry a maximum penalty of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine, stem from an incident in a private parking lot in the San Fernando Valley on August 6.

Spears is accused of hitting a parked car and driving away.

The victim filed an accident report on August 9 at the North Hollywood Community Police Station.

The city attorney's office did not know whether Spears' car had been damaged, nor did he know the extent of damage to the other car, spokesman Frank Mateljan said. He also did not know who else, if anyone, was in the car with Spears.

Representatives for the singer were not immediately available for comment.

Spears was sent a letter on Friday, notifying her of the charges. A hearing, which Spears does not have to attend because the charges are misdemeanors, is set for October 10, Mateljan said.

Earlier this month, the singer, who shot to stardom in the late 1990s as a pop princess, delivered what was considered a disappointing performance of her new single "Gimme More" at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Spears' professional life has been overshadowed by her personal crises, which have become constant fodder for supermarket tabloids."

He certainly gave what should be the most important reason for the telling of his tale-the safety of her children.
I know when "former" anythings(lawyers, managers, advisors, friends,lovers, etc.) spill the beans, there's usually some $$$ involved. Even if that is the case here, the end may justify the means.

LOS ANGELES - Britney Spears was ordered Monday to surrender custody of her children to ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Superior Court Judge Scott M. Gordon ruled that Federline will take custody of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, beginning Wednesday “until further order of the court.”

The order stemmed from an unspecified oral motion made by Federline’s attorneys and was handled in a closed-door hearing. The judge’s order didn’t state the reason for the change in custody and all transcripts of the proceedings were ordered sealed.

Phone messages left for representatives of Spears and Federline were not immediately returned Monday.

Last month, Gordon said Spears engaged in “habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol.” He ordered the pop star to undergo random drug and alcohol testing twice a week as part of her ongoing custody dispute with Federline.

Spears also was previously ordered to meet weekly with a “parenting coach” who was to observe and report back to the court about her parenting skills. Both Spears and Federline must complete the court’s “Parenting Without Conflict” class.

Spears, 25, and Federline, 29, were wed in October 2004. She filed for divorce last November and it became official in July. The two have joint custody of their sons, but Federline is seeking a greater share of custody.

Since Spears became single, her troubles have played out in the tabloids. First she was photographed at various Hollywood hotspots partying with Paris Hilton. Some photos captured Spears without panties. Then Spears shaved her head, beat a car with an umbrella and ended up spending a month in rehab.

An MTV Video Music Awards performance last month meant to herald her comeback was universally panned. The following week, Spears’ management firm dropped her and her divorce lawyer resigned.

She then was charged with misdemeanor counts of hit-and-run and driving without a valid license for allegedly crashing into a parked car in August.

Spears’ new album will be released Nov. 13.

Maybe I'm being a little unfair, but I get the feeling that Federline is less interested in his kids than he is in the accompanying maintenance cheques...

So the Britney drama continues...

Apparently it's only temporary loss of custody because she could not produce a valid California drivers license. Still, it may lead to her losing them altogether, as she's obviously an unfit parent, easy to see from her very public behavior.

I am so tempted to pass along the DUH award (which Rob awarded to me) to Mr. Trope, but it looks too good on my mantle to give it up quite yet.

Even if this is only temporary, how far has Britney fallen that Federline ends up coming across as the relatively stable one? OUCH!
