A Los Angeles County judge refused to restore Britney Spears' custody of her two sons today (October 3).
During a two-hour hearing behind closed doors, Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon said that Spears' ex-husband, Kevin Federline, would retain custody of Sean Preston (2) and Jayden James (1).
According to Federline's attorney, Gordon granted Spears visitation rights under certain conditions, but did not specify what those conditions were, reports the Associated Press.
Another hearing has been set for October 26, at which time Gordon may revisit his decision.
Spears lost custody of her children on Monday, as previously reported.

Britney Spears has christened her new album "Blackout." The Jive set is due Nov. 13 and is led by the single "Gimme More," which rockets 68-3 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week after selling 179,000 downloads, her first top 10 hit since "Toxic" in March 2004.
A video for the track hits iTunes today (Oct. 5) and will premiere Monday on traditional broadcast outlets.
A track list has yet to be announced, but “Blackout” is known to include the songs “Heaven on Earth,” “Radar,” “Piece of Me” and “Break the Ice.” Among the production and songwriting collaborators are Bloodshy & Avant, Nate “Danjahandz” Hills and Kara DioGuardi.
Spears’ sizzling chart performance this week stands in stark contrast to her ongoing personal travails. The artist was stripped of custody of her two small children and although she was given visitation rights, a monitor must be present at all times. <<

A judge has ordered Britney Spears to be booked in her hit and run case.
Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Rebecca Omens today (October 9) ordered the pop star to appear at a Los Angeles police station before October 25, when she is due to appear in court.
Spears must be photographed and fingerprinted in relation to the charges stemming from the August 6 incident in which she was filmed by paparazzi smashing into someone's vehicle and then walking away.
The car's owner, Kim Robard-Rifkin, filed a police report three days after the incident. She discovered that Spears hit her car through an online video, reports the Associated Press.
Spears' attorney said that she intends to compensate Robard-Rifkin for the damages.

I'm confused. Why did this woman wait three days to report the accident? If it had been me, I would have reported it immediately (if I intended to report it at all.)
I guess what I'm REALLY wondering is whether she reported it before or after she saw the video online ....

Appears to me as if she didn't know who did it until seeing the online video, then filed a report as a response to that. Seeing dollar signs in her head perhaps?
Britney Spears has been granted temporary visitation rights to her children.
The singer's lawyer confirmed that she is allowed to see her two sons again after a Los Angeles court ruled last week she could not see them until she complied with court orders.
"Yes, she has visitation [rights] with the children," Anne Kiley confirmed to Associated Press.
Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline has been granted full custody of the two boys.
The singer has been ordered to complete random drug and alcohol tests twice a week, as well as meeting a 'parenting coach' each week, according to court documents.
The next hearing is scheduled for Friday (October 26), reports BBC News. <<
A judge in a Los Angeles court today ruled that Kevin Federline would continue to maintain custody of their two young sons after a parenting coach revealed details of Britney Spears' unfit parenting.
Documents reveal that Spears failed to meet with the court-appointed coach on three occasions, that she is not "child-centered" and that her kids have no schedule or routine.
The report also describes the atmosphere in the house as ranging from "chaotic to almost somber, with little communication at all."
It also said that Spears "choices are more dependent upon what she wants to do at any given time rather than what would be more enjoyable for the children."
Spears will be allowed to see her children twice a week during supervised visits, and will be allowed to have them overnight once a week.
She is also under orders to complete random drug tests.

I like the first 2 tracks and either # 8 or 9, otherwise I'm not too thrilled. Maybe it'll grow on me. The song "Radar" is Britney's most annoying track ever!

Britney Spears' former assistant Kalie Machado has talked about the troubled star's emotional breakdown during her split with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Machado, who was Spears' assistant for three months told Us Weekly that the spilt "just made her crazy and depressed" and that "she needs mental help".
Meanwhile, this morning (October 31) Spears spoke to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show this morning, on a rare interview to promote her new album 'Blackout' released yesterday.
When asked how often she would see her children, after a judge ruled yesterday that she would have two supervised visits and one overnight stay per week Spears said:
"That's, like, all in the court. Stuff like that, my lawyers know all that stuff."
Seacrest appeared to have woken the pop star up when he called, her voice groggy when she came to the phone.
She said they ate fried chicken and watched movies to celebrate the release of her album.
She commented on her recent tabloid attention saying:
"People talk and they say what they want at the end of the day, you know in the tabloids and in the magazines," she said. "But you just try to keep on doing what you do, like, you know, and as long as you know what's up and you know what's true, that's all that really matters, you know?"
The interview finished when Spears current assistant Ali Simms took the phone and said Britney was taking a shower.

I think it's hilarious how they're in the middle of the interview, presumably asking her questions...and someone picks up the phone to tell them that the interview is over, Brit's taking a shower!

Spears pays Federline $15,000 per month in child support and $20,000 in spousal support.
Federline currently has temporary custody of their children.
