My votes are for these four:

Yesterday & Today - stereo / mono
Revolver - stereo / mono
Sgt. Pepper - stereo / mono
Magical Mystery Tour - stereo / mono

Looks nice anyways ;)

Went with "Revolver" I like to see Sgt. Pepper released ala "Pet Sounds".
Special packaging and all.

Yesterday and Today and Magical Mystery Tour are required!

jpgr4ever, I totally agree. This maintains the theme started in the first two volumes. I still hope that all of the others will eventually be released, as well (Hard Day's Night U.S., Hey Jude, Rock and Roll Music, Love Songs, Rarities U.S., Reel Music, 20 Greatest Hits). Each one contains alternate mixes or rare versions. A deluxe Hollywood Bowl would be great, too.

Thanks for the votes and support....i wanted to make the poll for "4" choices but i didnt get that option :(

I suppose if Revolver & Sgt. Pepper werent included because they are not "original" Capitol creations, I would take these:

Y&T
MMT
Hey Jude
AHDN Soundtrack (this was later acquired by Capitol in 1979)
The Beatles' Story (maybe a limited bonus cd ?)

:yay:

It's a documentary type album telling the story of the Fabs with bits of music. Not the sort of stuff that bears repeated listening but still something I'd like to see on CD, if only for completeness sake !

Yesterday & Today
Revolver
Magical Mystery Tour
Hey Jude

I don't know if there was ever an actual stated theme for this series, but I think if it is to present original Beatles' material as it first appeared on Capitol Records here in the U.S., than these should be them.

A Hard Days Night CD issue would be welcome. I know Hollywood Bowl is an historic document, but I didn't think much of it as a record. Unless they decide to do something with the mix, I'll just stick with the vinyl and CD boot.

The theme was not stated but strongly implied. The idea was to issue the albums in their U.S. configurations as released on Capitol Records. HDN was first released on United Artists, and Hey Jude was initially released on Apple.

I do hope that all of the U.S. albums eventually make it to CD.

I've actually got more support on this topic here than any other forum... :ohyes:

When I emailed Bruce Spizer about what should be in Vol. 3 he claimed that he'd like to see a 4th volume (if there ever is one ) of the Capitol "theme" albums like R&R Music, Love Songs, Reel Music, and Rarities.
He was pushing for these 4 in Vol. 3 :

Y&T
Hey Jude
AHDN
Live AT HB

I argued with him that MMT and Revolver should not be overlooked, but he claims that Revolver is just the UK version minus three tracks, and that Magical Mystery Tour is already on CD?!?.....but I said NOT THE US MIXES !!!

If they are going to issue a UK mono/stereo Revolver, they should issue the mono with the original first pressing UK "matrix" version that includes the alternate mono mix of "Tomorrow Never Knows", and save the Capitol mono mix for the more common mono mix (which it was anyways). That way they can market both versions ..US & UK. :yay:

It's not the greatest Capitol creation but it's worthy of inclusion in this series.....I couldnt believe it wasnt in Vol. 1, at least as a limited bonus cd or something. Usually Best Buy offers that kind of stuff ;)

It's just a narrative documentary by LA disc jockeys and includes Beatles music including a clip of "Twist & Shout" from HB '64 that never made onto any other Beatles release, plus a "Beatles Medley" of songs from from the 1st four Capitol albums, and interviews with fans and the Beatles themselves.
There is a boot cd of the 1994 DAT master tape which is mint quality (stereo mix) . It was intended for release in '94 when DAT tapes were popular, but the project was cancelled.

FYI = the mono version is just the stereo mix "collapsed" or combined into mono...it's also more valuable on vinyl than the stereo :yay:

Good point. I had forgetten that Hey Jude was an Apple release. I would at least like to see Y&T and Revolver to complete the thought. Whatever else they stick in there would be fine. I hope they actually get around to doing something.

Re: Hey Jude, all the songs from that album turned up in the poorly named and package Past Masters sets. My wish is for a two-disc Hey Jude release comprising all the contents of Past Masters with the new updated 24-bit sound.

jpgr4ever, Good idea for Revolver, but I doubt that it will happen because the first version of TMK was originally withdrawn so quickly. The only way the alternate TMK will be issued is on some kind of rarities package. Still, the U.S. Revolver is of interest because of the truncated track lineup. The U.S. MMT has at least two mixes unique to that release. I still support Y&T, Rev, Sgt. Pepper, and MMT for Vol. 3.

Here's a thought for the rest...

How about "The Beatles in the '70s," consisting of Hey Jude, R&R Music, Hollywood Bowl (perhaps expanded), and Love Songs, followed by "The Beatles in the '80s," with Rarities (U.S. and UK on one disc), Reel Music, Ballads, and 20 Greatest Hits (expanded to include tracks exclusive to the UK release). That leaves only AHDN, which I suppose could be issued on its own in in some sort of deluxe package.
