https://www.cleveland.com/music/index.s ... _reve.htmlLooks like the nominee list will be released on Tuesday. Revised fan voting? Let me guess. User must now sign up for a Crapbook account so all their data can be collected and then hacked by any of the world's millions of computer savvy 11 year olds. I didn't start a new thread for 2019 because Renny deserves that honor. He done such a good job with that introductory post in the past, that is only seems fitting to let him open the 2019 version. My picks for the next five: -Jethro Tull -Roxy Music -Kraftwerk -The Doobie Brothers -Judas Priest

Well, here's the new thread.

Apparently The Scorpions are not in, though they have a permanent exhibit in the actual Hall. Bizarre.

I'll eventually search my list from last year & copy it here. No additions that I can think of.

Despite what many in the general public think of her, she was an influence on many musicians from the B-52's to Sonic Youth and others. I also think she's the first woman artist to take chances and break the perception of what women musicians were supposed to be.....(Patti Smith is important in that aspect too). I know I won't convince anyone who think she "destroyed the Beatles with her own bare hands," but I seriously like her music, and find it innovative.

I was lucky to first hear Fly a few months before I discovered Lene Lovich. After The B-52s came around, I realized I wasn't the only one who found her unique and innovate albums to be inspiring.

I agree with Charles and Dean. My first real awareness of Yoko's music started with "Double Fantasy," and, though I loved hearing new songs from John, I found Yoko's half of the album more exhilarating. There's work that I don't care for--some early pieces are grating and hard for me to listen to, a couple of the albums after "Milk and Honey" felt lightweight, and, based on samples I've heard, I'm don't think I'll get her new album--but that's outweighed by what I enjoy, from "Approximately Infinite Universe" and "Season of Glass" to her last two albums, "Between Your Head and the Sky" and "Take Me to the Land of Hell." Her "Onobox" is one of my favorite box sets, and her single, "Walking on Thin Ice," still knocks me out.
