Ok, after reading Stumpy Joe's Christina Aguilera, it prompted me to ask something that has driven me nuts recently. Although this is the lame man's version of Stumpy Joe's,. as I have vague references at best.
At least 12 years back (further likely as I was at another job at the time)...I heard on the radio a Steve Miller mashup - I guess - of two classic SM songs intertwined that worked pretty damn well. One of them, I am pretty sure - but not absolutely - was Fly Like an Eagle (in any event they both would have been on the Greatest Hits 74-78). I believe it was associated with some compilation that was released at the time. I was too much of a purist back then, so I never paid any attention. But having looked around a bit I am not sure if this ever existed properly (though I heard it on the radio).

Does anyone know what I am talking about? Even if it is out of print, I am just wanting to make sure I am not losing my mind.
