I'll just say it right now...it sucks that Jimbo isn't around. He'd have seen many of these movies and he'd have some interesting thoughts on all he'd seen. I'll feel the same way every time this year, but I'll try to repeat this statement each year.

I used to pride myself on being in tune with pop culture and seeing as much new as possible, but this list really makes me realize I am out of touch. The only stuff I've even seen are these few:
Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy “The Good Place” (NBC)
Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy Kristen Bell (“The Good Place”) Candice Bergen (“Murphy Brown”) Debra Messing (“Will & Grace”)
Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy Donald Glover (“Atlanta”)
Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” (FX)
Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television Darren Criss (“The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story”)
Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television Penelope Cruz (“The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story”)
Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television Edgar Ramirez (“The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story”)
Of those, the only one I enjoy is NBC's "The Good Place", which I think is brilliantly written. I will get around to a few of the movies that are nominated, but over-all, I realize I am drifting away from the culture.

At times he would attend 3 movies on a Friday and then one Saturday night. This years nominees seem very weak to me, Black Panther, Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star Is Born are Best Pictures? All fun to see at the movies but none of them are cinematically special. Crowd pleasers. I think Jimbo would be shocked by that. If this reflects the Oscars then I have nothing to look forward to at the end of this month (when the so called Oscar movies come out on Christmas Day). I would guess the actual Oscar list will be different.

Vice is one of the movies I'm most looking forward to as well as Stan & Ollie.

Quote: Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” (Amazon)
Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”)
It really deserved the Emmy's that it won. The show is highly enjoyable.

Glad to see that The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story is getting plenty of nominations. But Trust the FX tv series about the J Paul Getty III kidnapping should have gotten something, that was better than the film that had come out.

He should've been nominated for his performance.

Also seems like you don't have services like Netflix or amazon prime. Nothing wrong with that of course but that's the direction most quality tv is heading towards.
