R.I.P.
I first heard this band as a teenager, drawn in by their eccentric album covers, and have loved them ever since.

They played at SUNY Oswego a year or so before I got there and then Lowell George died. I took for granted that they were not worth seeing after that. They played for like $10 at Rash Field at the Inner Harbor in May ‘95 in Baltimore and I figured why not, it’s almost free. Paul Barrere had taken over the lead vocal and guitar spot and it was fantastic. I was like 20 feet from the stage on the side with Billy Payne and was mesmerized by the entire band.
RIP to a rock pillar.

One of my favorite bands. Paul was certainly a big part of their unique sound. Thanks for all the great music! Rest in peace.

I first saw Little Feat at what was close to one of my most memorable concert appearances ever...
This was at McDonough Arena at Georgetown University in 1973 I think...
The opening act was Paul Butterfield's Better Days, who were awesome, with guest at the end of their set - Arthur 'Big Boy' Crudup.
Arthur then played a solo set with sit-ins by Bonnie Raitt and members of Little Feat (maybe just Lowell George on slide)..
While this wrapped up they were joined by the whole of LF, who then did their own smoking hot set ending with Bonnie Raitt joining them and then segueing into her own solo set with Freebo and band....
Jeez - this was 45 years ago so I may have the sets out of order but I do remember everybody played with everybody... What a night...
I saw LF many times over the years - Lisner Auditorium, then the 3 night run at the Warner Theater where some of Waiting for Columbus was recorded...they were always a great, great live act.
And we were proud that they called DC and Baltimore their hometown as a band for several years. They always mentioned that DC was the first area outside of LA that gave them any recognition and they were always very appreciative.
We were amazed that it took the rest of the world so long to catch on.
RIP Paul... thanks for all the great music. Truly one of America's great bands.
