When the Police finish their set, will you keep watching the Grammy telecast or will you switch channels?

I'll turn the thing off most likely. Nothing else on that show for me to see.

I don't believe I've ever sat through more than 30 seconds of a live Grammy broadcast in my entire life.

I haven't watched the Grammys in years.

I'm going with The Simpsons.

Still a lot of potentially interesting performances there...

Gnarls Barkley, Wyclef Jean, John Legend, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smokey Robinson, Shakira, Justin Timberlake

I will record it later and skip through much of it when I get around to watching it.

TIVO is the best option. Thats what I did last year and it worked great. The Madonna opening was actually very good and worth repeated viewings. Maybe lightning will strike twice.

My wife has to have her Desperate Housewives.:)

As much as I can't take most of the music going on nowadays, I'll probably keep the broadcast on the whole way through. At certain sections, I'll probably do a few chores around the house such as my usual weekly dusting. I still think of the time I saw Billy Paul doing "Me and Mrs. Jones" during the (I believe) '73 Grammy broadcast (the single came out in the Fall of '72) and my being blown away by how cool he looked. Man, that hat and matching suit he wore was the personification of cool to a 5th Grader such as myself back then.

TiVo the Simpsons, watch the Grammys. Flip round during the boring bits.

I haven't watched the Grammy's in years. I recorded the last two, but never bothered to watch them. I'll be watching the Police , then I'll change the channel...

I had always watched the Grammys all my life and I began to notice how I was enjoying less and less of the music acts each year. I finally got to the point a few years ago that I would record the whole thing and then fast forward through it all, but stop on anything interesting. This year I don't think I'll even do that. Maybe I'll make a last-minute alteration of that plan, but I doubt it.

If there turns out to be a "Soy Bomb moment", I'll regret that decision.

I haven't watched the Grammys in about 20 years and The Simpsons has gotten so bad and painfully unfunny I stopped watching that about 3 years ago. And I used to be obsessed with that show!
My wife gave up on Desperate Housewives thank God, so we really don't watch any TV except Thursday (My Name Is Earl, Office, 30 Rock-I'm still giving that a chance, and she watches Grey's Anatomy).
So, I will watch the 76ers get destroyed by Dallas for a quarter or so (I hope they lose to get more ping pong balls in the lottery) and probably play some Wii golf.
The Grammys are an insult to the real music fans here nd they don't even show the awards I would care about (Instrumental, Jazz, Metal) so who gives a damn??? If I miss The Police I'll live-because I won't miss them live this year.

I voted for watching the Police and then turning it off. I may go back from time to time if I'm still awake.

The organization does some awfully strange things.I just became aware that the Doors will receive a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. I'm not a fan, so even forgetting the question of why, I would ask why now, after so many years. Shouldn't "Lifetime Achievment" mean something at least a little more than 3 years, and contain a few more worthy accomplishments? Well, this is the Grammys, so maybe not.

Yeah, it seems as though Krieger, Densmore and Manzarek have spent most of their lifetimes talking to interviewers about Jim Morrison, not making music.

"Roxanne" stretched out too long and then Best Pop Duet with Vocals going to Tony Bennett and Stevie Wonder doing a VERY old song. I quit! What a bunch of excrement.

Well.....the phone rang just before the show was going to start, so I missed the beginning and then totally forgot about the show and finally turned it on in time to see the end of the Dixie Chicks song.......then I hear there will be many surprises tonight......um yeah...sure.

OK-the 76ers got killed as I figured, then my wife called me into the other TV room because The Police had just come on. They sounded great, and tight. Not sure if all the backing vocals were legit though. Can't wait for the tour. Stewart's drumming was amaaing! Also, I don't recall Sting plucking bass before-I've always seen him pick. Then again, I lost interest in his solo stuff years ago, so maybe he's been doing that style. Anyway, it gave a different sound. He's such a good bassist.
After that, Jamie Foxx made some unfunny jokes and the Dxixe Chicks came on. We promtply turned the Grammys off.
I also found out that they are having online voting to decide who among 3 unsigned chicks gets to duet with Justin Timberlake!
What???
Have they stooped this low coming off as a poor-man's American Idol? Sad. And, gee, what an honor to sing with a man like Justin.
Good God.
Excrement indeed!

:x I don't think ROXANNE was dragged out too long. It was awesome seeing and hearing them together again. Period. Can't wait for the tour, will see as many shows as I can get to for sure. Cleveland & Pittsburgh had better be on the schedule.
