What on earth is the New York Yankees greatest hits...and volume 2 yet?
Well Jeff, Jim would have bought it just for the cover. But it’s a conglomeration of radio and tv calls of important in game moments from Michael Kaye (TV announcer) and John Sterling (Radio announcer) throughout there record setting 1998 World Championship season. Most about 30 seconds long. Then mix in a few of the favorite songs played at the stadium and bingo, a must have for any Yankee fan!

I loved when teams did this. There was a CD from the Penguins first Cup year - a buddy of mine got one signed by Mike Lange, who was apparently surprised (and not exactly happy) to find out it existed.
But the one I really loved was the 1971 Pirates highlight album. I still remember getting my original copy at a little drive-in restaurant (the kind where they brought the food right to the car) that really had no business selling that kind of thing. (Loved that place, and apparently it closed last year. Great fish and footlong hot dogs.) Being a kid, I didn't treat that album exactly kindly, but I did score a replacement copy.
Turns out there was a version for the 1960 champs as well, which I picked up well after the fact.

Ah, that makes sense. I was imagining things like ARod and Jeter attempting to do Karaoke or something.

THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING JIMBO DROP!
Library still a disaster of 2X10’s and various power tools, so back down to the basement we go.
Lots of nice artists multi purchase collection builders in this Drop.
Three Toto, Three Dionne Warwick and two apiece for U2, Conway Twitty, Zappa, Uriah Heep, Twisted Sister, Dwight Yoakam and even two from the Lilith Fair.
And there would be four if we lump Pete solo in with the two versions of “Who’s Next”. How about that Ultimate Master Recording gold disc!
Tried to put the guitar driven music up on the practice rigs because gear makes the world go round.
And who can tell me about the disc at the very top row on the table last one on the right? (Without looking) Just a number as a name?

Last Sunday there was a “UFO” compilation in the Drop. Had kind of a loose grip on their style cause Jimmy loved them, had all their albums and always talked with glowing admiration about them.
All that was missing for me was actually listening to their tunes. And when do you ever find yourself with a whole free hour to immerse yourself? ‘Tis riding mower season! Crank up the headphones and stream the Essential UFO from Apple Music.
Avoid hitting “Rock Bottom” and “Lights Out”, your a certified “Space Child”! Did not know that a big part of their mid 70s success was adding X-Scorpions guitarist, Michael Schenker to the lineup.
I was weeping for missing the heyday of this band. Flat balls out rock. Kinda prog pop metal. Now I realize that I missed out on 40 years of additional joy me and Jimmy would have shared talking in depth about how great these guys were.

This is Jimbo's way of sending his love and thanks to his brother for taking such good care of the things he loved most - his music library.
Truly a blessing to keep you two close forever.
Enjoy every second.
Thanks buddy. That is a wonderfully heart warming sentiment beautifully expressed. I do feel like that is the case.
I did discover and enjoy all sorts of music and concerts (etc) that helped shape my musical universe during the ten years I was out in California, but I do realize it cost me those same ten years of being knee deep in vinyl and CDs with Jimmy in NY.

THE SUNDAY NIGHT NEXT UNIT CONSTRUCTION READY JIMBO DROP!
Actually at the point where I can’t put any more second half of the alphabet selections up on the shelves of without building the next addition.
How about The Ramones “Too Tough To Die”, “Subterranean Jungle” and on the cover of the DIY “Blank Generation”. There’s another in that series “Mass Ave”. Props too NYC and Boston respectively.
ANOTHER 80s three part series. Three nice MFSL classics. And the Gerry Rafferty hits CD contains my newly introduced favorite song of his “Home And Dry”.
Nice lenticular image on this “Sonic Temple” edition. And who in their right mind didn’t think Jimmy would pull out a Falco greatest hits?
But I will pay one hundred JIMBO credits to the next Imwaner who can produce their autographed, numbered photo from when they met Chris Isaak.
Of course the stumper was too glared on The Drop photo, so here you go.

I spy my pals at Porcupine Tree, the album Lightbulb Sun, the second CD I bought from them and I saw the tour when they played The Bottom Line in NYC in 2001. Good memories. That’s my second favorite PT album after Stupid Dream. They started in a small club in NY and a few years later sold out Radio City Music Hall.

JIMBO LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE!
Been battling rainy weather and being crazy busy at work. But was able to scratch out an hour to spend on the first step of the next section of shelves. DRYWALL! My nemesis. But this will add another 96 X 50 inches of shelf space.
AND....there’s my new favorite addition, a four step stepladder with handles. Let’s NOT take a tumble in The Library!
