I was looking at Jimmy’s concert ticket stubs from his college years. Worth enlarging to peruse them. Here are some highlights.
Springsteen twice at his college (SUNY Albany) The Who from 1971 at Forrest Hills tennis stadium And I can pretty much guarantee that the Rocky Horror ticket is from the Waverly when it came out
How bout Steppenwolf at his tiny college theatre in 1975 for $1?

My guess would be that it is for Lou Reed's Rock and Roll Heart Tour, in support of that year's release of the album of that name. On November 14, 1976, he was laying Albany New York:
Seems kind of ambitious...

That's just the kind of guy he was! (I fixed the typo.)

It's not as funny that way!

I know, but it's preserved in our quotes! I can't stand my errors. I re-edited to make my error more obvious.

Thanks for clearing the mystery up. You guys are awesome, brilliant and hysterically funny!

Jim always said he thought about our Mom, Ethel, everyday. In 2011 I sent this picture to the Smithsonian Magazine and they decided to post it on their blog. Jimmy thought this was just great. Till then the photo just sat in a drawer. The editor started to see the interest value in this photo when I asked him about rare events. I said “ have more people seen the Beatles play live or worn the Hope Diamond? Both are rare, one’s just a lot more rare.”
Mom; please take care of Jimmy.

As an aside, if I owned the Hope diamond I would never donate it to anyone, not even the Smithsonian like that Winston guy did. But I wouldn't have it very long because I'd sell it immediately.

This is a fantastic picture. That happens to be my second favorite Stones T out of his huge Stones T-shirt collection. Of course the Stones/Yankee combo one is my favorite. And John thank you for the love behind donating to Imwan In Jim’s name. I find myself thinking about how he would feel about things that happen down here if he was still around. I guarantee this would cause him to tear right up. Thank you!

No problem Jack, I knew Jimbo would have wanted me to remember him in that way. Looking forward to Saturday's get together at Harvard Square. I hear we will have really nice weather, in fact during the 3 times I did the previous Boston trips, we always had spectacular weather. Just wish I could pay a visit to Fenway but the Sox are out of town. At least maybe I can get some chowda!

And keep in mind if anyone wants some good dessert later on, MIke's bakery has delicious cannolis, etc. The weather looks to be very good and we'll gave a great time honoring our great friend Jimbo.

He loved pretty much all sweets. Our only “big” dispute growing up was ......I was the vanilla guy and he was partial to chocolate! He would definitely partake of the cannoli feast. He liked Luger’s Apple Strudel with extra Shlag!!! “Num, nums” as Jimmy would say.

And chocolate milkshake floats from Carvel.
He was devastated when the old Oceanside Carvel closed down. He never got to see the brand new one that opened up the road across from Mickey D’s At the beginning of the summer this year. Carvel always made him happy!
He was a “Whale Of A” Jimbo!

The funny thing he would never order a chocolate shake when he ate a burger say at 5 Guys. I always said to him you should get a shake with a burger and fries. He really liked Coca Cola. I would guess he drank a Coke every day of his life.

That was just our pattern since we were toddlers. Milk or soda with dinner, then sit around for an hour or so to digest. Then Dad would pack the four boys and Mom into the car for dessert over at Carvel. The same one we went to for at least 50 years, is my guess. (It opened in ‘54) We all had cones or sundays. Jim’s was ALWAYS a chocolate milkshake float.

Jack,
Jimbo will very much be on our minds and hearts when we get together Saturday afternoon in Harvard Square.
I'm already figuring out which CDs I should get on Saturday.
Maybe I should bring a CD shopping list like JImbo always did.
Thank you guys so much for dedicating such a wonderfully special day to the honor of Jimmy. I really wish I could be there. But I am also having a day where I celebrate Jimmy and his passion for music. After a very long and arduous process of preparing the space for Jim’s Cd library, the first shelf is going up today. I have recruited my friend Mike, who even though he never met Jimmy, has been committed to helping me along the way. This includes a lot of heavy lifting. Thank God for his help and friendship.
Enjoy your day filled with favorite Jimbo activities: Friends, Food, Desserts, Music Talk and Old Fashioned CD Shopping. A day he will cherish from afar.
THANK YOU!

I wish I was going to be there, but I'll do some CD shopping today, and the project for this afternoon is to start sorting CDs for my new CD cabinets. When we moved into this house over 19 years ago, I ordered two three drawer cabinets from a company in Canada because I was losing my CD shelves at the old house (and in truth, I'd already outgrown those. This would give me all the space I'd ever need (even though I was already on ICE and should have known better). I outgrew those years ago and have been making due, but I used my bonus money this year and bought two more. So now I'm gathering up all the CDs that have been hovering in storage limbo and resorting everything and spreading it out over 12 drawers now.

At our Jimbo Memorial Lunch today in Harvard Square, we shared lots of memories, inside jokes and laughs. Jimbo was one special guy and we had a great time remembering our great friend and buying CDs at some of the shops there. The weather was great and I'm glad everyone came out.
