Hussongs Cantina in Ensenada. Had to sneak back in to get my boombox!
I’d like to speak hypothetically about myself for a moment, if I may.
If I was walking down the street and came across a rattlesnake and a bootleg CD on the sidewalk....both of them would bite me before I knew what either of them were.
For Jimmy I’d like to offer a non answer.
I believe he may have told me that he redirected all his bootleg buying money into his concert ticket fund. I definitely know that his personal ticket and merch buying practices kept Steve Forbert’s career churning for many years.

DualDisc was a great concept but terrible in practice. I only have one (The Last Great traffic Jam) because it was never made available as a CD only set.

JIMBO LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE!
Today was a back breaker. First loading the truck up with supplies from Lowe’s. Then moving the rest of the boxes out of the library to clear the space for the next phase of construction. Subsequently fighting nightfall to rearrange stereo placement (etc) to make room for the supplies. Finally unloading the truck and placing the wood (and various sundries) back in allowing room for a workspace.
I’d say in about two or three weeks there’ll be another 18-20 feet of shelves.
Just curious ... do you expect that the 18-20 feet of new shelves will be enough for the rest of the collection, or is this just an interim step in a larger plan? If it's the latter, where do you go next???
I'm feeling a little nervous about Jack's answer to Spiderboy's question and am picturing a warehouse much like the one at the end of "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

First of all. Thanks Jay, Spiderboy and Momo for the nice words. You are all great. Always feel happy hearing the thoughts of our IMWAN family.
Here’s the cheapo floor plans.
Imagine the rectangular outlines being the floorboards for perpendicular 8’ tall double sided shelves which will be attached to the unit lining the wall. I’ll build until the whole collection is displayed.
It’s all “weird scenes in the goldmine” right now.

Of course! That's brilliant. Not to be overly dramatic, but this "shrine" to Jimbo is really on its way toward being a fitting tribute to the extraordinary man he clearly was. And not only that, be he obviously had one of the best brothers ever.

I don't remember his answer, but knowing Jimbo, he probably said something like "A lot."
THE PROBABLY NOT LISTENED TO A LOT JIMBO DROP!
These pix represent Jimmy’s insatiable desire to own full catalogues of CD compilation series. I don’t think he listened to 90+% of these discs. Likely bought used. Probably did listen to the music, though, on other items straight from the artists. Which he also owned.
(The same likely holds true for the music on his hundreds of unlistened to Movie Soundtrack Albums)

I don't know about that...I once posted a playlist in a thread and he immediately identified it as "disc one of (whatever comp it was - I've forgotten by now)". I realize he had damn near a photographic memory, but he had to have listened to it at least a few times to jump on it like that!
