Spice Girls to tour for 20th anniversary, reports say
The Spice Girls are set to both reform and tour for their 20th anniversary, sources say.
Rumours of a 20th anniversary tour have been around for the last year, with Mel B and Gerri Halliwell amongst the members who have commented publically on their desire to reunite for the 20th anniversary of hit debut single 'Wannabe'. Victoria Beckham - Posh Spice - has long been rumoured to be sitting out any reunion.
US Weekly are citing sources confirming a tour is to go ahead, and also have comments on the likely level of any involvement from Beckham.
They quote an insider as saying "This has been in the works for the past year. The girls have long been keen to do a major reunion tour together."
A second source adds "They are trying to convince Victoria to jump in, but she doesn't want to do it. If she doesn't agree, they are moving ahead without her."
The publication also states that Victoria Beckham "won't sing or dance," adding "there's a small chance she'll film something with [the band] or make an appearance at a show here and there."
The 20th anniversary of 'Wannabe' comes around on August 7.
The Sun last year reported that Beckham "insists she is too busy" for a reunion but that the possibility will remain open to her if she changes her mind. Her alleged uneasy relationship with fellow member Mel B was also cited as a reason.
A source added: "Victoria wishes the girls the best of luck. She knows the reunion is on but has declined to be involved. She is far too busy running her fashion brand and looking after her family to get back on a stage. She also feels that they left the stage on an amazing high with their Olympics performance and worries a reunion could tarnish their legacy."

My idea of a genuine music reunion is with Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood & John McVee reforming an honest version of the original Fleetwood Mac rather than this.

Spice Girls are reportedly looking for singers to replace Victoria Beckham and Mel C
Spice Girls are reportedly planning to audition for singers to replace Victoria Beckham and Melanie Chisholm on their rumoured 20th anniversary tour.
The '90s girlband haven't officially announced any dates, and the line-up for any anniversary shows has also yet to be finalised. Victoria Beckham has ruled herself out, saying she wants to concentrate on her fashion range.
Meanwhile, it was reported in April that Melanie Chisholm had also declined to take part, leaving just Emma Bunton, Geri Horner (née Halliwell) and Melanie Brown to tour for the band's 20th anniversary.
"The girls are going to be making a formal announcement about tryouts for their spots in the next few weeks. Posh and Sporty can be replaced," an unnamed source is said to have told Life & Style Magazine.
"It wasn't a surprise that Victoria would decline the tour, but the girls really hit the roof when Mel C ditched too," the unnamed source is also quoted as saying.
The Spice Girls last toured in 2008, after comeback single ‘Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)’ reached No 11. The tour was abandoned early in February of that year due to "personal and family commitments". They reunited again in 2012 to sing 'Wannabe’ and ‘Spice Up Your Life' at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.

Spice Girls may cancel their 2017 reunion
Back in March, it was reported that the Spice Girls were set to both reform and tour for their 20th anniversary, sources say.
Rumours of a 20th anniversary tour have been around for the last year, with Mel B and Geri Halliwell amongst the members who have commented publicly on their desire to reunite for the 20th anniversary of hit debut single 'Wannabe'.
It was then revealed that the Spice Girls reunion had been pushed back to 2017, with Melanie Brown confirming the news during an interview on US chat show Live With Kelly.
Now, according to The Mirror, the Spice Girls may have to cancel their reunion entirely, with the paper reporting that Mel B, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton are not going through with the reunion with only three of them.
Reports have suggested that Victoria Beckham isn't keen to tour again, and while Melanie C has been supportive of the reunion, she has told the group that she'll only do it if it's all five of them.
It was also recently reported that the band were holding auditions to replace Melanie Chisholm (Mel C) and Victoria Beckham.
The Spice Girls released their debut single 'Wannabe' on July 8, 1996, scoring the first of many number ones and marking this month as it's 20th anniversary.

New Spice Girls music has leaked and it's 'perfect pop'
New music from The Spice Girls has reportedly leaked, and it's been described as "perfect pop".
The Sun reports that a demo has leaked for a new track called 'Song For Her', and features Geri Horner, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton.
But it is is noticeable in the absence of both Victoria Beckham and Melanie Chisholm, after they reportedly turn down plans to reunite for the band's 20th anniversary.
The Sun claims to have heard the demo, and says that it is "deep, with the lyrics talking about how Geri, Emma and Mel have at times felt they have lost their Spice identity due to the pressures of being mums."
Lyrics in the demo are said to include: "Wipe up your tears of doubt you have been crying, lift up your dreams feel like you’re flying, never forget the girl is the woman you are.”
Emma Bunton has since confirmed the authenticity of the leak, but says there are no plans to release the demo.
She told Heart Breakfast: "You know, it is in the papers today.
"You know, us girls love creating stuff. We went and had a laugh in the studio. It’s not a single, it’s just we were creating."
The leak comes only days after Geri Horner, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton released a short video clip in which they teased a reunion, ahead of rumours that the band will reunite next summer for a gig in Hyde Park.
