Holy fuck!

http://www.tmz.com/2017/10/02/tom-petty ... ac-arrest/

TOM PETTY
FOUND UNCONSCIOUS IN FULL CARDIAC ARREST

Tom Petty was rushed to the hospital Sunday night after he was found unconscious, not breathing and in full cardiac arrest ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
EMTs rushed to his Malibu home and were able to get a pulse. He was rushed to the UCLA Santa Monica Hospital and our sources say he was put on life support.
Petty's condition is unknown but was critical from the moment he was found.
Petty, who became famous with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers in 1978 with "Breakdown," is 66.
We've been in touch with numerous people from Petty's camp and they are clearly upset but not talking.

UPDATE: We're told after Petty got to the hospital he had no brain activity and a decision was made to pull life support.

I just heard it from my guitar repair guy and I am shocked! What the heck is going on today?

Oh, man. This royally sucks. A legend and adherent of authenticity. The recent Mudcrutch and Heartbreakers material has been great. Silenced too soon.

This is one of the most personally upsetting passings of a rock star in my lifetime. I can't process it.

This really blows; I saw him earlier this year, and while I'm not a huge fan, he put on a helluva show.

Lots of condolences to his fans, and a lesson to everyone - if there's someone you really want to see, don't wait until next time. you never know when there will be no next time.

One of many things I appreciated about TP was he was a bit of an audiophile, making sure we got hi rez versions of his stuff. He seemed to really care about the music. I feel like he was one of us. Who would have ever guessed that Dylan(!) and Jeff Lynne would be the last remaining Wilburys?

I never got to see him perform live. :( If there's a 70s-era performer you like that is still doing shows, go see them now.

I'm having trouble, as well.

I saw him in London back in July, really shocked and saddened to hear this, he was one of my favourites.

Bannings: Not yet, but there's still time....
This hurts really bad - saw him backing up Dylan as well as many times with the Heartbreakers...
He was one of the very best premier live acts around, period.

Not only was he a great guitarist but having Mike Campbell in the band sealed the deal.
Campbell is one of the most under-appreciated lead guitarists around.

RIP TP

This day is a complete disaster and it's not even over yet...
