It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of Standells bassist John Fleckenstein (Fleck) on October 18th from a re-occurance of AML Leukemia. He had a massive failure of Kidney, heart and lungs. John had developed the disease in 2009, and had a stem cell transplant from a donor, with only 3% of his own cells remaining. It was those cells which became reinfected with the disease. John was a real fighter until the end.
My heartfelt condolences to his wife Jimsie, and to his friends and family. I loved John dearly.
