Great! Congrats! I've just started it and am enjoying it immensely.

By the way, I noticed on Amazon the other day that third-party sellers have the comic bookshop version listed at $135-$180!

I know that edition is hard to find, but that's ridiculous!

I finished this a few days ago and loved it! I liked hearing the Bowie songs played on the radio back in the 1970s, but knew nothing about him at the time, so I really enjoyed learning about Bowie's early career and evolving vision. The illustrations are beautiful...so much fun seeing his life and music depicted, as well as to see other musicians and musical artists portrayed and album covers and music art reproduced.

I'm curious to know how you decided what to include in the "story" and what to leave out, what to give more space and what to condense. Were some of the decisions based on what the artist thought he could illustrate effectively and in a meaningful way?

Anyway, thanks so much for this wonderful treat!

We did a metric fuckton of research and knew that there were certain memorable events that we just had to include. We tried not to leave anything out. Lol. Really glad you liked it.

So I guess they did a segment on Austrian television on the German language version of Bowie and it then immediately shot to #1 on amazon.de. I believe that's the third European country to hit #1 on graphic novels, making it a bonafide international bestseller.

Is it the guy who does that free online St. Elsewhere fanfic? I hear he's not doing anything at the moment. ;)

Haha. May. But it will cover the late ‘70s and early ‘80s.

That guy can't do likenesses to save his life, Steve. You should ask Marcus or Hanzo.

This is a lie. Your rhino-men don't look like anyone else's and Lygor is always on-model.

Bowie had a distinctive look (or series of them) and I'm sure you could easily do a great job with his likeness(es). Just consider this: what would Rich Buckler have done, turn down the gig or just...you know...do what he did do best? ;)

So, this question was on Jeopardy last night in the category "An Illustrated Life":

Quote:
The graphic novel about this pop & rock icon is subtitled "Stardust, Rayguns & Moonage Daydreams"

I knew the answer...you know, 'cause...

Congrats, Steve!!!
