Ohh, so so sad. Love this guy, I have his box set as well as other things. He was a very special unique artist. They don't make them like him anymore.

RIP Mr. Cohen.

Truly unique, and a fantastic poet and songwriter.

Sigh...

The movie McCabe & Mrs Miller turned me on to him. Fantastic artist!

A truly lousy year just keeps getting worse.

I have seen the future it is bleak.

RIP Mr. Cohen.

No. No. No. Goddammit, no.

This is devastating. I know he was an old man, but he was only getting better as a songwriter. His last album just a couple weeks ago was effing brilliant.

What a treasure this man was, in every way.

Damn.
He was great, a one of a kind artist.
Rest In Peace.

Ironic that I just started getting into him (Other then Suzanne) in the last year or so. I've enjoyed everything I've heard.

They just finished playing a live set on my local PRS. What a man. What a writer. What a singer. A huge loss, but an amazing legacy.

Thank you.

RIP

Very sad to hear. I remember how evocative his songs were in Robert Altman's film "McCabe and Mrs. Miller."

He was well admired by other songwriters, including Dylan. Kris Kristofferson said he wanted the first three lines of "Bird on a Wire" on his tombstone.

Like a bird on the wire
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free

A brilliant poet and songwriter. I first came across his work in a poetry anthology when I was in college, and my first experience of his songs was by way of Jennifer Warnes' beautiful covers/tribute album, "Famous Blue Raincoat." I think I'll pull that out tonight, since I don't have any of his own records at the moment. Rest in peace, Mr. Cohen.

That's a really good record.
I think Jennifer covered Cohen as well as anybody did.
