I've been really getting into bands lately that I listened to early in college.

Toadies
Oleander
Faith No More
Living Colour
Collective Soul
Foo Fighters
Live

Good stuff, all. Anyone else a fan of any of these bands?

I'm a big Living Colour fan... they're still around, although their last album was fairly disappointing in comparison to earlier releases. Great live band, though.

Foo Fighters do what they do, and they do it well. I didn't have a lot of interest in their recent live reworkings, but they make great commercial rock. Although I have to admit that Prince certainly did better with "Best Of You" than they did with "Darling Nikki"!

I've always maintained that a Faith No More reunion would be at least artistically more successful than many bands of that era who've since reunited, but alas I don't think it's in the cards. Patton seems happy with his multitude of projects, and I have no idea what the rest of the band are up to. Their last studio release, Album of the Year, was an underrated effort with some very grunge-y guitar work from newcomer Jon Hudson.

Of the list, Faith No More was the one I really liked (and still do). I always preferred them to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, as they didn't seem to be quite as flighty. We Care A Lot and The Real Thing were great rock albums, and Angel Dust was pretty cool. I moved away from them after that though, so I don't know their later albums.

I should also mention, that I saw them live in Montreal, and their songs kick a$$ on the live stage. They were upstaged later by the rest of the happening with Metallica and GnR (I predicted a riot, and I was right), but they were still very impressive.

Foo Fighters are a band I'm glad exists, but I don't set out listen to them. They're songs are better than average radio tripe, though.

I enjoy a couple of Collective Soul songs, but I think that's more for the girl I relate them to than the band themselves.

If you like those, Steve, allow me to direct you to some similar Canadian bands who may not have made it to Indiana - Econoline Crush, the Headstones, Our Lady Peace, and I Mother Earth. Treble Charger's also in there, but 100,000,000 was a pretty big song, so you may have heard of them.

Our Lady Peace made it to the States with the song Somewhere Out There a couple years back.

I'll have to plug in some of the above into Rhapsody...
