as a curious little factoid of joy:
it was my understanding that the 2cd set "the very best of..." was originally compiled with the live/orchestral version of "hotel california"
as the final track on disc 2 to round out the collection, but that track was ultimately excluded for some legalistic reason.
you'll note that there's just the right amount of space for it... 'twould have been brilliant!

Why not put out a singles mix compilation, or something interesting for a change? I mean, you have at least one three non-LP tracks, some mono mixes and radio edits. Perhaps they can even include some more "Leftovers" or "Random Victims" stuff. I was always curious about the "Outlaw Man" single. It's in my Top 3 of favorite Eagles songs and I always wondered if the single mix omitted the banjos from the instrumental Doolin' Dalton. I don't know. I've never heard it. But, nope. Let's put out another Greatest Hits compilation. What a waste!

It's likely to tie in with the hype over the upcoming "Classic" shows with Glenn's son and Vince Gill.

Business decision - get "new" product in the shops.

and 'get you in the mood' has still never been on an eagles CD.

Another vote for "Outlaw Man", it got a lot of airplay back in my home town, definitely should have been on a comp.

But yeah, why not a Singles A's & B's? Somewhere around 36 tracks or so thru the first 6 studio albums...

I made my own compilation and even included a song from the Eden disc. I own the first remasters of their catalog that included the Live disc.

For me,'all I need are Eagles Greatest Hits and Hotel California! Done.

For me, I'd have to add the lp One of These Nights. I love every track on that record. My fave!

But it is at least available in 16-bit CD quality at 7digital (which Renny's post inspired me to check).

I'm surprised that never ended up on a comp, as they could sell it as having a rare, out-of-print b-side.
