If you're not nice
Based on how Caroline do their other box sets, this will likely be 6 original albums remastered with some bonus tracks. (ETA: That's exactly what it turned out to be -- see tracklist below.)

I'll be interested to see exactly what this is.
It could be a six album set as Linda speculated...if so it would probably 1978's First Glance through 1985's Walking Through Fire. I'd guess those six only because those were the biggest April Wine albums in the USA.
A few years back there was a 4 CD set issued where one disc was a greatest hits, another disc was a "hard rock" disc, another disc was a "vintage" disc and another disc was a live disc. I guess it's possible that this set could be an expanded version of that older set.
April Wine's first 12 albums were all on Aquarius, and it would be possible to fit all 12 of those albums on 6 discs (although the later albums are too long where 2 albums won't fit on 1 disc, so they would have to split some albums between discs). I will buy this set immediately if that's what this is.

I hope it's quite a bit different than just the latter 6 albums, because I have all those from BGO and they're rather good.
I'm guessing it's more than that, but I could be wrong.
I love this band even though they could've been so much better had they dedicated themselves to being a Hard Rock band a little more and less of a Pop band.
The old box set (The April Wine Collection) was issued way back in the early 90s-I remember being in Toronto and seeing that, and I know it's still available.

Banned??? Moi???
The first time I heard of April Wine was through their gig at the El Mocambo club in Toronto, 1977, appearing with "The Cockroaches."
Quote:
In mid-1977, April Wine was booked to play a charity concert at the famed El Mocambo Club in Toronto, Ontario. Co-headliner on the bill was a band called "The Cockroaches," who turned out to be The Rolling Stones. The pseudonym was a poorly kept secret and huge crowds turned out for the event.
The Stones set made up Side 3 of Love You Live.

April Wine were chosen by the Stones to open that gig.
Even though April Wine had a Top 40 hit in the US in 1972 ("You Could've Been a Lady") and a minor hit covering Elton John's "Bad Side of the Moon", they faded into obscurity in the States while racking up a ton of hits in Canada afterwards.
It was the Stones gig which finally got them a US deal again with Capitol in 1978 and from 1978-1982 they made some killer albums and were a strong selling act here (Nature of the Beast went Platinum in 1981).
That to me is the "vintage" era of the band, and the two MTV concerts (I have both) from 1981 and 1982 showed how amazing they were live and how heavy. Three lead guitars and intricate guitar harmonies alongside great vocalist and a powerful drummer.
If only they had stayed the course...

Yep, that's the one Joseph and I mentioned.
I don't see this new one as a career-spanning box, but maybe one that crams in a bunch of (hopefully) remastered albums.
I'm very curious as to what this will be.

I'm guessing that this will mirror the Raspberries and Bob Welch box sets, which means that this will cover it's Capitol albums output.
It very well could be, which means these (I'm supplying chart info because I'm a nerd):
First Glance (1978) US #114/ Canada #62 Harder...Faster (1979) US #64/ Canada #25 Nature of the Beast (1981) US #26/ Canada #11 Power Play (1982) US #37/ Canada #14 Animal Grace (1984) US #62/ Canada #34 Walking Through Fire (1985) US #174
I have the BGO 2-fers and I hate 2 fers, so I'd get this set and hope that Andy Pearce does the remastering or someone like him who does such good work.

Wow, they didn't even crack the top 10 for sales in Canada. Strange, since they were everywhere. Myles Goodwin is probably the closest "big" name in music to the town I grew up in.
Going back to something posted in another thread - April Wine is a perfect example of a Canadian roots rock band that captured the music of the times. I'd never buy a 6 disc set (not a collector, I), but I should get around to getting something of their's on CD. But looking at these 6 albums, I'd probably go with a comp - lots of good singles, but not hugely deep albums.

Adding it to the overly long shopping list.
Jason
Jason, they did have 32 singles reach the charts in Canada, 6 of which made the Top 10 which is pretty astounding.
As for comps, there are way too many and too many crappy ones, but Classic Masters has excellent remastering and features only Capitol-era material and is the best one, though a little short.

Currently I only have "Harder...Faster" and "The Nature of the Beast" in my collection. Could live with just having those two, and actually prefer those over any comp. I agree that the rest of the albums have their share of filler material, but "Harder...Faster" and "The Nature of the Beast" are good start to finish (but will admit I could live without the King Crimson cover).
But if I could get the first 12 studio albums on 6 CDs at a bargain price, that's an easy buy (although it's unlikely that this particular set will include their first 12 albums).
Also, the version of "The Nature of the Beast" that I have on CD sounds stellar and there is no need for a remaster there.

That King Crimson cover is mind-blowing.
One of the best covers and most inventive I've ever heard!
Really, from First Glance through Power Play it's great stuff with a few wimpy duds on each album.
After that they lost the plot, although their reunion albums were very, very good and organic and rocking.
They did a great version of Simon and Garfunkel's "I Am a Rock".

I bought that back in 2011 for around $53. I just looked at it in my order history and it's down to $43 and some change. If anyone wants a good compilation set, then this is it. I bought it because the albums I liked weren't remastered yet. Then BGO ponied up and I bought the ones that they did. I kept the 4 disc set because it has that live disc on cd 4.

OK, looks like remastered 5 Capitol albums (thank God they skipped the wretched contract-obligation abomination Walking Through Fire) and a BBC live disc from 1980 at the Reading Festival.
