Rose Tattoo was perceived as the shockingly authentic voice of aggressive young Australia upon its release in 1978. Charismatic vocalist Angry Anderson, backed by guitarists Mick Cocks and Pete Wells, delivers a string of raucous rock 'n' roll boogie songs. Produced by Vanda and Young - who also worked with stable mates AC/DC - this debut album impressed fans and critics alike, particularly in the UK during the New Wave of Heavy Metal era. It is packed with dynamic performances, with three singles - debut 'Bad Boy For Love', European hit 'Rock 'N' Roll Outlaw' (#2 France / #5 Germany / #60 UK) and 'One Of The Boys' plus original tracks such as 'Nice Boys' (later covered by admirers Guns N' Roses) and 'The Butcher And Fast Eddie', all topped by the vocal punch of front man Anderson, who later became a top Australian TV celebrity.

An underrated and innovative work, a street rock classic, that reached #14 in the Australian charts in 1982, and was released around the time the band went on a tour of the USA, ably supporting top headliners Aerosmith and ZZ Top. It's packed with great hook lines and punctuated by Angry Anderson's vocals. Rose Tattoo's third album produced three singles, including Australian hit single 'We Can't Be Beaten', the British chart 45 'It's Gonna Work Itself Out' and 'Branded'. These are just three of the highlights on this album, produced by Harry Vanda & George Young.

Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this album by the Australian hard rockers. Includes two bonus tracks and 16-page booklet with liner notes by Malcolm Dome with quotes from Angry Anderson. With Angry Anderson at the helm and a completely overhauled line-up in place, the band returned to work with Vanda & Young as producers at Albert Studios for what was to be the last time the band worked with the famed production team. Rose Tattoo experimented a little on this album, trying out fresh ideas. It also helped that they had a new regiment of talent on board. Originally released in 1984, Southern Stars made it to #30 in the Australian charts. Three singles releases were taken from the original album 'I Wish' (#32 Australia) plus 'Freedom's Flame' and 'No Secrets'. Anderson and Meyer did much of the writing, and there was a distinct move towards a more commercial sound, this being achieved without sacrificing all the values for which the Tatts had stood during the previous trio of albums.
