Description
Melanie was born Melanie Safka in 1947 in Queens, New York. She is a folk pop singer/songwriter. She made her first public singing appearance at age 4 on the radio show Live Like A Millionaire. The song she performed was "Gimme A Little Kiss".

"Born To Be" was Melanie's debut album released in 1968 on Buddah Records. She then performed at Woodstock in 1969. This lead to the album being reissued & repackaged as "My First Album" in 1969 after the famous festival. Our CD reissue features the original Buddah album artwork.

The self titled album "Melanie" was originally released on Buddah Records in 1969 and charted for 2 weeks on the Billboard Music Charts.

I'm largely good on her, though I'm glad the Neighborhood stuff is coming back out.

I'll never forget buying an official French pressing of my fav Melanie album, Gather Me; only to discover it was an official needle drop. For $20 or so, I was not happy!

If Wounded Bord ever re-does the Rhino Hand Made 2 cd edition of Photograph, that's also worth picking up.
