This is the first in a series of archival compilations, self-released by the group:

Description
America Archives Vol. 1, consists of early recordings, demos, rehearsals spanning 1970 – 1975. These recently unearthed tracks provide the listener with a “you are there / fly on the wall” experience of the working out of soon to be classic hits such as Horse With No Name, I Need You, Ventura Highway, and Sister Golden Hair. Also included are unreleased and alternate takes of some of the more “deep cuts” in the catalog such as the alternate Rainy Day from the Chalk Farm Sessions, various Buzz studio rehearsals and the America Hearts album sessions.

Tracklist
1. Ventura Highway (Alternate Mix - The Record Plant, Los Angeles, CA, 1972)
2. Daisy Jane (Rehearsal The Record Plant, Sausalito, CA 1975)
3. It's Life (Alternate Mix - The Record Plant, Los Angeles, CA, 1973)
4. Rainbow Song (Demo - Buzz Studios, King's Road, Los Angeles, CA, 1973)
5. I Need You (Alternate Mix - Trident Studios, London, 1971)
6. Horse With No Name (Alternate Early Mix - Morgan Studios, London, 1971)
7. Sister Golden Hair (Demo Buzz Studios, King's Road, Los Angeles, CA, 1973)
8. Woman Tonight (Rehearsal - The Record Plant, Sausalito, CA, 1975)
9. Rainy Day (Alternate Mix - Chalk Farm Studios, 1971)
10. Only In Your Heart (Demo Buzz Studios, King's Road, Los Angeles, CA, 1972)
11. Cornwall Blank (Early Rehearsal - The Record Plant, Los Angeles, CA, 1972)
12. Look Up, Look Down (Unreleased Demo - Buzz Studios, King's Road, Los Angeles, CA, 1973)
13. Green Monkey (Demo - Buzz Studios, King's Road, Los Angeles, CA, 1973)

to the best of my recollection the above song is the only one that is unreleased on this.

I love America and like that they're getting previously unavailable stuff out there. I enjoyed "Lost & Found" and I'm glad they're doing this. The price is a little steep though, at least at Amazon. They've sold a lot through CDBaby, but this title isn't showing up there yet, so I don't know if it might be cheaper there eventually.

The first response that stated there was nothing new here caused me to not order this . Thank God I did further research and found out that this is ALL previously unreleased versions . That poster really needs to be more clear as to their writing . Alternates , demos and of course , unreleased songs are BIG selling points for older artists .

that was me, and there is nothing unreleased here other than the one song i mentioned above......i don't consider demos, alternate version, live versions etc to be "new songs", never did and never will.

but of course to each their own, so go for it if this is you r kind of release.

It did finally show up at CDBaby, but for $15.99 plus shipping. That leaves Amazon the cheapest if you get the free shipping. Still, $17 for that CD makes me squirm a little.

This arrived today and I'm loving it. The cuts are predictably uneven, from very polished alternate takes or mixes to rough demos, but they're all enjoyable and a number of them are pretty great. It's so much fun to hear these familiar songs in a different light; it makes them sound so fresh, and makes me appreciate how good the songwriting is. The biggest surprise for me is Cornwall Blank, a solid album cut from Homecoming that is almost epic here. Ventura Highway, Daisy Jane, It's Life, Rainbow Song, and Horse With No Name are all highlights. The only previously unreleased song, Look Up, Look Down, is good but may be the weakest cut on the disc.

America fans need this.

Thanks Greg. That's what I and probably WalterP wanted to hear. I'll be getting this in the near future.

That's good news. I couldn't stand the wait anymore, so I pulled the trigger earlier on Amazon.

I am really looking forward to the unreleased versions of the old familiar songs . There is quite the market for this kind of material and I am glad to see that America is starting to release this kind of material . Of course , the Stones , Led Zeppelin , the Beatles , Bob Dylan and many other bands have discovered that this is viable market . My couple should be here today . Really looking forward to hearing the new material ! :D

I finally broke down and ordered this, and I share Greg's enthusiasm. The older I get, the more I enjoy alternates, demos and live versions for putting a little different spin on songs that are ingrained in mind. Breathes new life.
