I should have known better than to buy the 30th anniversary edition of Beauty and the Beat when it came out in 2011. I found it disappointing at the time that the reissue had only the original 11 tracks and was missing the b-side track, Surfing and Spying, and any single mixes. It did include the same Metro Club, Boston show included in the new version above, but I haven't listened to that again after the first time. Oh, well...live and learn. (Actually, in my case, live and not learn and not learn and not learn... )

I'd have to do a side-by-side comparison to be sure, but it looks like all of the bonus tracks (except for the concert from the "Beauty and the Beat: 30th Anniversary" and the re-recorded "Cool Jerk" from "Greatest Hits") are just the tracks from "Return to the Valley of The Go-Go's" spread across the three albums.

Why no videos I wonder?
That's exactly what this is, but I never bought that comp, so to me this would be good to get these.
Videos cost a lot of $ to acquire, so that would be my guess.
The music videos they had were:
Our Lips Are Sealed We Got the Beat Vacation Get Up and Go Head Over Heels Turn to You Yes or No Cool Jerk (1990 version) The Whole World Lost Its Head Unforgiven
It would be nice to have all those on a DVD, but I doubt it will happen.
I have all of them somewhere on various DVDs I burned from my VHS tapes.

Maybe Edsel will follow this up with a compilation and include a DVD of the videos. They did that with Belinda following her album reissues. I would actually prefer that anyway since it looks like I already have all the bonus tracks. (Although the new interviews/liner notes sound nice.)

I'd love to see the original recording of Cool Jerk with Margot show up on CD.
Dean,
Is that different from the Stiff Records version from Return To The Valley Of The Go-Go's? On it, Belinda says "Margot, hon, I want to hear some of that mean, mean bass".

Not only that, these appear to be missing most, if not all, of the additional rare tracks that came out as B-sides to the singles from Return To The Valley Of The Go-Go's, "The Whole World Lost Its Head" and "Good Girl".

Shame that the underrated God Bless the Go-Go's isn't part of it, but that was another label.
Definitely is, Pete. Three possibilities to add to a reissue of that album are the following:
King Of Confusion (single B-side to “Unforgiven”) I Think I Need Sleep (bonus track on UK version of God Bless The Go-Go’s) Vacation (recorded live in NYC, 7/21/00 for the Today Show / single B-side to “Unforgiven”)

Oh cool (jerk ). That's the one. Guess I should get that.

It appears that the Stiff recordings are being called demos on these releases. The only one missing is "We Got the Beat," which was a b-side to one of the "Return to the Valley" singles. It has been rumored that there is a Stiff recording of "Surfing and Spying," but long ago I asked Jane about this and she said she didn't remember them recording that one then.
I sure wish they had dug out an earlier concert to use on BATB instead of that rather dull Boston one. Even better would have been to put "Totally Go-Go's" on a dvd as a 2nd disc.
