Description
The Miamis were legends in New York in the 1970s, playing shows at CBGB, Max’s Kansas City, and The Mudd Club with artists like Blondie, Television, Ramones, Talking Heads, and even KISS. Led by brothers James and Thomas Wynbrandt, a Miamis show was the show to see. And, while the crowds loved them, the record business at the time couldn’t decide whether they were too pop for punk, or too punk for pop. Luckily, the band recorded material—with producers like Craig Leon (Ramones) and Genya Ravan in studios including Plaza Sound and Electric Lady. Plus, their live prowess was captured on tape, as well.

Omnivore Recordings is proud to finally “introduce” this band to the world with We Deliver: The Lost Band Of The CBGB Era (1974-1979). 23 tracks of the best music you’ve never heard.

The best of the band’s studio material is collected here, as well as demos and live tracks from CBGB—including a cover of Sinatra’s “That’s Life,” recorded two years before Sid Vicious would tackle “My Way.”

Featuring photos, memorabilia, and liner notes from compilation producer Jesse Lauter, the Wynbrandts’ cousin, who discovered the band’s music after attending school in NYC after The Miamis disbanded. After carefully transferring the existing tapes, the material has been remastered and restored by Grammy® winning engineer, Michael Graves.

More than a timepiece or historical document, We Deliver: The Lost Band Of The CBGB Era (1974-1979) shows the depth and breadth of the important New York music scene of the 1970s, and stands as a testament to that while you think you may know the story, you won’t know the whole story until you devour We Deliver.

I remember the name from the punk scene, but never heard their music or saw them play. Definitely goes on my shopping list.

I hadn't heard of them. Sounds more power pop than punk. The songs in the trailer reminds me of the Knack. (That's a good thing IMO.)

The 1st song in that promo sounds a little similar to "Good Girls Don't."

Picked this up last week. Pretty terrific. Surprising that they couldn't get a record deal in the late 70s. Lucky for us, somebody preserved the tapes in excellent condition.

How is the sound on the live cuts? I don't mind if they are a little rough sounding, but I can't listen to them when it's someone with a cassette deck in the audience.

Live tracks sound professionally recorded to me. Certainly better than an audience tape.

Thanks. I like the samples. Reminds me of the Dictators' first album a bit.
